Tracfone is the original prepaid wireless brand under what became the Verizon-owned Tracfone family. It is also a multi-network MVNO, with lines that can run on Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile depending on which SIM Tracfone issued at activation. Where to Enter the APN

Determine which underlying network your Tracfone SIM uses before entering values. Check the SIM packaging and the activation email for network information. If you cannot identify the network, contact Tracfone support before choosing an APN.

Tracfone iPhone APN Values

If your iPhone needs manual entry (rare on Tracfone), use the APN value that matches your underlying network in the Cellular Data Network and MMS sections. Check the MMS Max Message Size with Tracfone before changing it; use the value provided for your line.

Multi-Network APN Mapping

Using the wrong APN for the underlying network can cause Tracfone data problems. A T-Mobile-network SIM needs settings appropriate to its network, and the same applies to a Verizon-network SIM. Confirm the network before entering or changing the APN values.

To figure out which network your SIM is on, look at the SIM packaging or activation email first for network information. If you do not have those, text APN to 611611 from the phone for setup help, or contact Tracfone support and ask which network the SIM was provisioned for. The old *228 CDMA programming code no longer works on today's phones, since Verizon retired its 3G CDMA network on December 31, 2022.
