Samsung has begun rolling out the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy Note 10 series in the United States. While the update has already been released in South Korea, it is now expanding to carrier-unlocked models in the US. Surprisingly, the global versions of smartphones have yet to receive the update.

The latest software, carrying firmware version N97xU1UEU7HWE1, brings the May 2023 security patch to the unlocked versions of the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+. This update addresses more than 70 security vulnerabilities discovered in Galaxy devices. However, no new features or performance enhancements are included in this release.

To install the May 2023 security update on an unlocked Galaxy Note 10 or Galaxy Note 10+ in the US, users can navigate to Settings » Software update and select Download and install. Alternatively, the firmware file can be manually downloaded from the Samsung database and flashed onto the device.

Samsung initially introduced the Galaxy Note 10 series in the second half of 2019 with Android 9. Over time, the devices received updates to Android 10 in early 2020, Android 11 in late 2020, and Android 12 in late 2021. However, the Galaxy Note 10 series will no longer receive Android OS updates moving forward.
