Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4G: A Pure Blend of Specs and Quality with LTE Support

Like the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, the Core Prime 4G is also a dual SIM smart phone supporting microSIM for connectivity. The 4G LTE supported smartphone is equipped with a 1.2 GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor similarly like its 3G variant. This handset comes preloaded with Adreno 306 GPU and is powered by Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS which is upgradable to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. The LTE variant has a 1GB RAM comes with 8GB ROM which can be externally expanded up to 64GB through microSD card support.

 

 

The phone boasts a 4.5” capacitive touchscreen, with approximately 64.9% screen-to-body ratio, offering 480 x 854 pixels resolution which could have been a bit better to make the display more live and vivid. The Core Prime 4G has a CMOS 5 MP rear camera which has the ability to take rich images at 2592 х 1944 pixels resolution and features auto-focus technology. The presence of LED flash helps low light photography. The primary camera also has the ability to record 720p HD videos at 30 fps which is an essential feature for video geeks. The front camera is of 2MP to allow taking stunning selfies and making video calls. The phone is supported by a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery which is enough to provide you interruption-free entertainment. The phone boasts other features like Wi-Fi, micro USB, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS, Accelerometer, Photo/video editor, etc.

Design and Quality

The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4G is sleek, attractive and light and like most Samsung smartphones is made of excellent build quality. The lack of basic requirements of a Corning Gorilla Glass and a water-resistant screen makes the phone a bit overpriced. The phone boasts round edges which is quite a tradition for Samsung. The phone weighs only 130g to make it easier to carry and has a dimension of 130.8 x 67.9 x 8.8 mm.  The Core Prime 4G sports a 4.5” multi touch TFT screen with 64.9% body ratio. The metallic edges and rear panel matte finish gives the phone an attractive look. With the microUSB port at the bottom edge and the power and volume key on either parallel side edges, the phone has a 3.5mm earjack port on the top. While the front camera is right aligned, the rear camera is centered with the LED flash and speaker on either sides. The phone is available in silver, white and grey color codes, each giving a unique look to the LTE handset.

OS and Tech

The phone runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat with an available update to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS which is quite a relief as well as a primary software benchmark of the phone. The phone features only two sensors including an Accelerometer and a Proximity sensor while sensors like Light sensor and G-sensor misses from the built of the phone. The 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor allows the phone in providing seamless performance. With connectivity options like 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, OTA sync, A-GPS and NFC, the phone is sure to make some buzz in the market. Also, the phone uses technology like GLONASS and Beidou for navigation.

Camera and Multimedia

The primary camera, though 5MP, offers stunning photos even in a low light environment with the help of LED flash. It offers videos to be shot at 720p HD resolution at 30fps thus delivering excellent performance in terms of camera. The rear camera boasts additional features like digital zoom, touch focus, geo- tagging and face detection to make it even more acceptable. The 2MP secondary camera delivers beautiful selfies along with providing the ability to make video calls to your acquaintances. Battery and Memory

The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4G is rigged with a 2000 mAh battery which is enough to deliver interruption free long usage without worrying of plugging your phone into a charging point. But for heavy usage, you might need it done twice or thrice a day to keep it alive. The phone is equipped with a 1GB RAM which might be a considered a backdrop if compared to trending smartphones from manufactures like Xiaomi or Lenovo. The internal 8GB memory is quite a relief in order to install heavy applications and the option of increasing the memory upto 64GB allows you to enjoy an endless stream of songs, pictures and videos. The virtual memory of GPU comprises of Adreno-306 which enables the Core Prime 4G to provide lag-free performance.

After the trend of 4G supported phones has been set by rival companies, Samsung has started its own 4G campaign by upgrading its popular models to 4G LTE. Though it loses the race in providing high-end specifications in a phone at this price as compared to manufacturers like Motorola, Xiaomi, and Lenovo, the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4G flaunts a stylish look with high-speed internet experience. The light outfit of the Core Prime 4G is sure to attract the attention of smartphone lovers who are in search of a mid-range specs with LTE connectivity blended into the quality of a Samsung smartphone.
