When your Realme GT 7 Pro stops ringing, it can feel like you've got a very expensive paperweight. This is a common headache with Android phones, but the fixes are usually straightforward. I'd start with the quick checks first, as they solve the problem more often than not.

Before we get into the weeds, let's run through the essentials. Pull down the notification shade twice and make sure the airplane icon isn't highlighted. If it is, tap it to turn Airplane Mode off. Next, give your phone a quick restart by holding the power button for about 10 seconds until you see the Realme logo.

Also, take a glance at your signal bars. If you're down to one or none, that's likely the culprit. Try moving to a different spot or near a window. Finally, a quick call to your carrier can confirm there's no outage in your area or an issue with your account.

Check Do Not Disturb and Focus Modes

Realme UI 6.0 has several ways to silence calls that are easy to toggle on by accident. Swipe down from the top of your screen and look for the "Do Not Disturb" or "Focus" mode icons in your quick settings panel. If either is active, tap it to turn it off.

For a deeper check, go into Settings > Sound & vibration > Do Not Disturb. Here, you can see the schedule and rules. Make sure "Calls" aren't being silenced for everyone or for specific contacts. The "Bedtime Mode" can also block calls, so verify that's off if you're not using it.

Review Call Blocking and Spam Settings

Your phone's built-in spam protection might be a little too enthusiastic. Open your Phone app, tap the three-dot menu in the top right, and go to Settings > Block numbers. Look through this list to make sure no important numbers are accidentally blocked.

Also, check the spam filter settings. In the same Phone app settings menu, look for an option like "Caller ID and spam" or "Harassment filter." You can usually toggle the spam filter off temporarily to see if that's what's blocking your incoming calls.

Disable Call Forwarding and Barring

Call forwarding is a feature that sends your calls to another number, and sometimes it gets activated without you knowing. To check, open the Phone app, tap the three-dot menu, and go to Settings > Call settings.

Look for "Call forwarding" or "Supplementary services." Tap into it and make sure all forwarding options (like when busy, unanswered, or unreachable) are set to "Turn off" or your carrier's default deactivation code. While you're there, also check "Call barring" to ensure no restrictions are active on incoming calls.

Inspect Your SIM Card

A loose or faulty SIM card is a classic reason for call problems. The GT 7 Pro uses a nano-SIM. You'll need the SIM ejector tool that came in the box. Gently push it into the small hole on the SIM tray on the bottom edge of the phone.

Pull the tray out and carefully remove the SIM card. Give the gold contacts a quick wipe with a soft, dry cloth and blow any dust out of the tray slot. Reinsert the SIM, making sure it's seated correctly in the tray, and push the tray back in until it clicks. Restart your phone and see if your signal returns.

Reset Your Network Settings

If you're still having issues, resetting network settings can clear out any corrupted connection data. This will erase all saved Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth pairings, and mobile data preferences, so be prepared to re-enter those.

To do this, go to Settings > System > Reset options. Tap on "Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth." Confirm the reset and let your phone reboot. After it restarts, you'll need to reconnect to your Wi-Fi and re-pair any Bluetooth devices, but it often fixes persistent calling and network glitches.

In Settings, go to System and tap Reset options (Android 16, Pixel emulator).

Update Your Software

Running outdated software can lead to all sorts of bugs, including call reception issues. Realme is generally good with updates, especially for a flagship like the GT 7 Pro. Make sure you're on the latest version of Android 15 and Realme UI 6.0.

Head to Settings > About device > Software update. Tap "Check for updates." If an update is available, download and install it. It's best to do this while connected to Wi-Fi and with your phone plugged into its 120W charger, as the process can take a few minutes and uses battery.

Clear the Phone App's Cache and Data

Sometimes the problem is isolated to the Phone app itself. Corrupted cache files can cause it to misbehave. Don't worry, clearing the cache won't delete your call history or contacts.

Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps. Find and tap on "Phone." Then, go to Storage & cache. Tap "Clear cache" first and test your calls. If the problem persists, you can go back and tap "Clear storage" or "Clear data." This will reset the app to its default state, so you may need to re-grant any permissions it asks for.

On the app's storage screen, tap Clear cache (Android 16, Pixel emulator; Camera shown as the example app).

Check for Problematic Third-Party Apps

An app you recently installed could be interfering with telephony services. This is especially true for apps that manage calls, messages, or permissions. Think about any new apps you downloaded around the time the problem started.

Try booting your phone into Safe Mode. Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears, then long-press the "Power off" option. Tap "OK" when prompted to reboot to Safe Mode. If your calls work fine in Safe Mode, a third-party app is the likely culprit. You'll need to uninstall apps one by one to find the offender.

Verify Carrier Services and APN Settings

Your carrier's configuration might need a refresh. First, try updating the "Carrier Services" app from the Google Play Store. This app works in the background to improve connectivity.

Next, check your APN (Access Point Name) settings. Go to Settings > Network & internet > SIMs (on realme phones, Settings > Mobile network), select your SIM, then tap Access Point Names. Tap the three-dot menu and select "Reset to default." If that doesn't repopulate the correct settings, you may need to get the exact APN details from your carrier's website and enter them manually.

Consider a Factory Reset

If you've tried everything else and calls still won't come through, a factory reset is the final step. This will wipe your phone back to its original out-of-the-box state, so this is critical: back up everything important first. Use Google Drive for your photos and files, and make sure your contacts are synced to your Google account.

Once backed up, go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset). Follow the prompts to confirm. After the reset is complete, set up your phone as new initially to see if the calling issue is resolved before restoring your backup.
