Nokia's rugged phone, the XR20, is set to get a successor in the form of the Nokia XR21. Although it was originally thought that the device would be called the XR30, new reports have surfaced to confirm that it will actually be known as the XR21.

The XR21 is set to come with a range of impressive specs, including a 6.49-inch LCD with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus and will include a 16MP front-facing camera. The rear of the device will house a 64MP main camera with an Omnivision sensor, as well as an 8MP ultrawide sensor.

Under the hood, the Nokia XR21 will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 695 chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone will be IP68 water and dust resistant and will come equipped with a 4,800mAh battery with 33W charging support. The ruggedized case means the phone will weigh 235 grams.

Interestingly, the Nokia XR21 is expected to launch with Android 12 and Nokia has promised to offer OS updates until May 2026 and security patches for another year beyond that. The phone will also feature Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and a headphone jack.

The Nokia XR21 is shaping up to be an impressive phone for those in need of a rugged device that can withstand extreme conditions. No official release date has been announced yet, but Nokia fans can look forward to getting their hands on the device in the near future.
