Nexus 6 Common Issues And How To Fix Them

Nexus is one of the best options if you are going to buy an Android device as it is a Google handset that comes with the latest Android OS and technology. Google has cooperated with some big vendors in creating their Nexus handset. In 2014, Google cooperated with a popular vendor Motorola and presented Nexus 6. The device came with a great spec. However, some users started to experience some issues on their Nexus 6. We are going to show you how to fix some common problems on Nexus 6.

Common Nexus 6 problems and how to solve them

Nexus 6 Keeps Freezing

When this problem occurs, we usually wait until it becomes responsive again. But, it can take forever. So annoying. Here are some possible solutions to deal with this problem.

Solution 1:

Restart your Nexus 6.

Solution 2:

Update the software: Settings > About phone > System updates > Check for update.

Solution 3:

Launch Google Play app and update all the apps you have on your device.

You should close the apps you are not using, and to do that open Settings > Apps > find the app you want to close and click Force Stop.

Solution 5:

Go to Settings and then tap Storage to see how much storage space is available. If you have less than 10% of free space, you will have to delete some things, for example, apps or files you don’t need.

The next thing you should do is to clear apps cache and data. It’s simple, just follow these steps: go to Settings > Storage, tap Cached data and then click OK.

Solution 7:

Boot your device into safe mode to see if any of third-party apps is responsible for the problem. To boot your device into safe mode:

  • Make sure that the screen on your device is turned on and then press and hold the Power button
  • A box will open and then you need to tap and hold Power off
  • Once you see Reboot in safe mode, tap OK
  • To exit the safe mode, reboot your device.

Solution 8:

Perform factory data reset to delete third-party apps, personal settings, and data. Backup your files first and follow these steps:

  • Navigate to Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory data reset > Reset phone > Erase Everything
  • Once this is completed, select the “Restart” option.

 

Nexus 6 Random Reboots

Solution 1:

If your device reboots when you launch or use a specific app,

  • Clear app cache and data – Go to Settings > Apps > Tap on the app for which you want to clear cache and data for > Tap Storage > Click Clear Cache. If clearing the cache does not fix the issue, follow the same steps and then click Clear Data.
  • Open Google Play and update the app
  • Remove the app completely.

Go to Settings > Storage, click Cached data followed by OK.

Launch Google Play application and then update all of your apps.

Update the software. To do that, go to Settings > About phone > System updates and then click on Check for update. If there is a new software version, follow the steps on the screen to install it.

Perhaps one of the third-party apps is responsible for the problem, and to see if that’s the case, boot your device into safe mode.

Backup the important files and then perform factory data reset.

 

Nexus 6 Wi-Fi Issues

Wi-Fi issue is one of a very common problem on mobile devices. Solving it is not that difficult. You can try these possible solutions.

Turn off Wi-Fi and turn it back on. Simple, but often works.

Another simple thing that can fix so many issues is to restart your device.

Unplug your router, wait for a while and plug it back in.

Another thing you can do is to set shorter sleep time. To do this open the Settings > Display > Sleep and choose 15 or 30 seconds.

We know that you just love all those cool live wallpapers, but the live wallpapers are draining the battery so it is advisable not to use them.

Go to Settings, tap Display, tap on Brightness level and reduce it. Once you do this, the battery will last longer.
