Xiaomi's Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro tablets are headed to international markets months after their September China debut. EU Energy Labels for both models have appeared, signaling an imminent global launch.
The tablets could arrive alongside Xiaomi's 17 and 17 Ultra smartphones before MWC Barcelona starts on March 2. This timing would position the Android tablets against premium competitors during the mobile industry's biggest annual event.
Both models feature 11.2-inch IPS LCD displays with 144Hz refresh rates and 800-nit peak brightness. They share quad-speaker setups and 9,200 mAh batteries supporting 22.5W reverse wired charging.
The standard Pad 8 uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage options. It includes a 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, and supports 45W wired charging.
The Pad 8 Pro upgrades to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with either 8GB/256GB or 12GB/512GB configurations. Camera capabilities jump to 50MP rear and 32MP front sensors, while charging speeds increase to 67W. The Pro model also adds a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Color options reportedly include blue, grey, and green for both tablets. While pre-launch leaks from August 2025 suggested battery capacities around 10,000mAh, the officially announced tablets feature 9,200mAh batteries.
Xiaomi continues using IPS displays rather than OLED panels for the main Pad 8 series. However, tipsters indicate the company might introduce OLED technology with a rumored Pad 8 Ultra variant.
The global expansion follows Xiaomi's broader HyperOS 3 rollout that began in October 2025. The company has been expanding its international presence across multiple product categories, including recent gaming monitor launches and automotive ventures.
EU regulatory filings with model numbers 25091RP04G and 25091RP43G confirm the tablets' readiness for European markets. These documents typically precede consumer availability by several weeks.
Xiaomi's tablet strategy focuses on competitive specifications at lower price points than Samsung's Galaxy Tab S series and Apple's iPad Pro.
The Pad 8 lineup represents the company's eighth generation of Android tablets since entering the market.
