A data breach at Apple manufacturing partner Tata Electronics has leaked over 200,000 files totaling 630GB, exposing internal blueprints, drop-test videos, and finalized design details for the iPhone 18 Pro, the largest leak in recent Apple history.
Leaker EarlyAppleLeaks shared images on X of what is said to be a finalized "Cherry Red" iPhone 18 Pro finish. An older "bergundy" color also surfaced in the leak, but sources suggest it was tested during CMF (color, material, finish) evaluation and did not make the cut for production. A black variant was also shared on the leaker's Discord channel.
The same leak confirms the iPhone 18 Pro will feature a smaller Dynamic Island. Schematics show Apple achieved this by moving the infrared flooder under the display, freeing up space on the front panel. Images shared by EarlyAppleLeaks on Discord and corroborated by other files from the Tata breach add weight to the redesign.
Internal motherboard schematics reveal Apple is adopting WMCM (Wafer-level Multi-Chip Module) packaging for the A20 Pro chip, allowing DRAM to sit alongside the SoC rather than stacked on top. The change improves heat dissipation because the SoC now makes better contact with a reportedly larger vapor chamber.
The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and a foldable "iPhone Ultra" are expected in September. The base iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will arrive around March 2027, according to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo also confirmed RAM allocations across the lineup. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will carry 12GB of RAM, matching the iPhone 17 Pro models.
The lower-end iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e get a 1GB bump to 9GB, up from 8GB in their predecessors. Kuo said the increase ensures Apple Intelligence features run smoothly on those devices.
Even with the extra RAM, the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will miss two iOS 27 features: customizable Siri voice expressiveness and pacing, and a "major boost in accuracy" for speech-to-text dictation. Both require a minimum of 12GB of RAM, putting them out of reach for the 9GB models.
Separately, tipster Digital Chat Station claimed on Weibo that the iPhone 18e will skip ProMotion again, sticking with a 60Hz display and a 6.12-inch screen size. The leaker said Apple is keeping costs down amid surging memory prices. The cyber group World Leaks is reportedly behind the Tata Electronics breach, and with hundreds of gigabytes of data still unreleased, more iPhone 18 Pro details are likely to surface before Apple's September launch.
