Samsung's Galaxy Book6 Ultra launches at $2,449 with Intel Panther Lake processors and Nvidia RTX graphics, positioning itself as a premium Windows alternative to Apple's MacBook Pro lineup.
The 16-inch laptop debuted at CES 2026 alongside the Book6 Pro and standard Book6 models. All three feature Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 processors, also known as Panther Lake, which deliver significant performance and efficiency improvements over previous generations.
Pricing starts at $2,449.99 in the US, £2,999 in the UK, and approximately AU$6,000 in Australia for the base configuration. That model includes an Nvidia RTX 5060 GPU, 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. Higher-end configurations offer RTX 5070 graphics and up to 64GB of memory.
The Galaxy Book6 Ultra's price positions it above Apple's 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 chip, which starts at $1,599. Samsung's laptop compares more directly to Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Pro or M4 Max processors, priced at $2,499 and $3,499 respectively.
Samsung redesigned the Galaxy Book series for 2026, removing the number pad to center the keyboard and trackpad. The 16-inch AMOLED display features 2880×1800 resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and 1000 nits peak brightness.
The laptop measures 14.05 x 9.76 x 0.6 inches and weighs 4.2 pounds.
Intel's Panther Lake processors enable battery life improvements while maintaining strong multithreaded performance. Samsung claims up to 30 hours of battery life for the 80Wh battery, with fast charging that restores 63% capacity in 30 minutes using a 140W charger.
The Galaxy Book6 Ultra includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1 supporting 8K at 60Hz, SD card reader, and headphone jack. Unlike Samsung's smartphones, the laptop retains the 3.5mm audio port.
Samsung's Galaxy Connected Experiences ecosystem allows the laptop to interact with other Samsung devices. Features include Multicontrol for using the laptop's trackpad and keyboard with Samsung smartphones, file sharing between devices, and using Galaxy tablets as secondary displays.
The integration provides what reviewers describe as the closest Windows/Android equivalent to Apple's Mac/iPhone/iPad ecosystem. However, the functionality requires using Samsung's apps and signing into a Samsung account alongside Microsoft and Google accounts.
Performance benchmarks show the RTX 5070-equipped model achieving 111.86 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p with DLSS enabled. The laptop handles 4K video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro without performance issues, according to testing.
Samsung implemented an upgraded cooling system with vapor chambers and redesigned airflow. The company claims 35% better heat dissipation compared to previous generations, though some reviewers noted audible fan noise during intensive workloads.
The Galaxy Book6 Ultra arrives as Samsung's highest-end laptop offering, targeting creative professionals and users invested in the Samsung ecosystem. Availability begins in South Korea on January 27, 2026, with global launches expected in early spring.
UK and European customers will not receive a charger in the box, following Apple's environmental initiative. The policy adds to the total cost for users without compatible USB-C power adapters.
Samsung's laptop division returned to European markets in 2020 after several years of absence. The Galaxy Book6 Ultra represents the company's most direct challenge to Apple's premium laptop dominance to date.
