Microsoft released a command-line interface for the Microsoft Store on February 11, 2026. The Store CLI provides terminal access to browse, install, and update Windows applications without using the graphical interface.

Developers and power users can now manage Store apps directly from command prompts. The tool supports three primary functions: browsing apps with category filters, installing applications via single commands, and updating specific software without navigating menus.

Store CLI operates only on Windows devices where the Microsoft Store remains enabled.

Microsoft vice president Giorgio Sardo stated the interface "brings app discovery, installation and update management directly to your terminal."

This enables users to discover and install Store apps without needing the GUI.

The new tool functions similarly to Windows Package Manager (winget) but focuses exclusively on Microsoft Store applications. Users access Store CLI by opening a Terminal window and typing "store." Commands include "store browse-apps" for catalog exploration and "store search" with market and language filters.

Microsoft simultaneously upgraded developer analytics in Partner Center. Health Reports now offer multi-filter insights across app versions, device architectures, and OS builds.

Anomaly Alerts notify developers about unusual crash spikes via email and dashboard notifications.

A redesigned Summary Dashboard consolidates installs, ratings, stability, and engagement metrics. The updated Usage Dashboard adds active devices, session counts, and engagement duration tracking with regional filtering capabilities.

Web Installer improvements include auto-open functionality for Win32 applications. Enterprise-managed devices benefit from enhanced installation logic designed to improve deployment success rates. Microsoft also refreshed its Store Badge creator for promotional materials.

These updates follow Microsoft's Secure Boot expiration warning issued earlier this month and come alongside other recent security patches. The company confirmed Exchange Web Services for Exchange Online will shut down in 2027.

Store CLI represents Microsoft's continued refinement of developer tools alongside expanding command-line control options.
