LG G3 Common issues and How to Fix Them

LG G3 was released in 2014. This is the successor of G2 and a flagship phone from LG. G3 adopts 1440p screen and using the infrared hybrid autofocus on its camera system. However, as a flagship with a great specification, it still has some issues as some users reported. We are going to list some common issues on G3 and how to fix them.

Common LG G3 problems and their solutions

LG G3 Overheating Issues

Sometimes, LG G3 gets hot when you play a heavy game or use the other heavy apps. To solve it, you can try these solutions.

Solution 1:

Update Android OS by going to Apps > Settings > General > About phone > click on System updates > Check now. If the update is available, tap Install Now and follow the given steps.

Solution 2:

Reduce the brightness level by going to Apps > Settings > tap Display > Brightness, and set it as lower as you want.

Solution 3:

See which apps and processes that use the most battery by going to Settings > Battery > tap on Battery Usage. Or, go to Settings > Apps and select Running tab > tap on the app or the process that cause the issue.

Solution 4:

Do not Overclock processor frequency.

Solution 5:

Perform a factory Reset by goin to Settings > General > Backup & Reset > tap on Factory Data reset > Reset phone > Erase everything.

 

LG G3 Won’t Turn On

Some users reported that their LG G3 won’t turn on. If you are one of them, you can fix it by following these solutions.

Solution 1:

Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds.

Solution 2:

Try to charge your LG G3 for 15 to 20 minutes and try to turn it on. Make sure you use the original charger.

Solution 3:

Remove the battery for a few minutes, put it back and try to turn it on.

Solution 4:

Remove the battery and charge your smartphone for around 30 minutes. Then, put the battery back to your smartphone and try to turn it on.

Solution 5:

Perform a hard reset by pressing and holding the Power button and the Volume Down key until the LG logo appears. Keep holding the Volume Down key and release and press it again immediately and keep that position. After the Factory Data Reset screen appears, release both buttons. Tap on “Yes” and press the Power button. Tap on “yes” one more time and press the Power button to confirm.

 

LG G3 Slow Charging Issue

Slow charging issue on LG G3 is one of the common issues. These potential solutions might help you to solve the problem.

Solution 1:

Use the Battery Saver option by going to Settings > Battery > select Battery Saver.

Solution 2:

Disable the unnecessary features, such as GPS, NFC, 3G, and Bluetooth.

Solution 3:

Check and uninstall the apps that use the most battery power.

Settings > General > Battery > Battery Use. After you find those apps, uninstall them.

Solution 4:

Wipe the cache partition by going to Settings > General > Storage > Cached data > press Okay.

Solution 5:

Perform a factory reset by going to Settings > General > Backup and reset > Preferred backup method
> Select Factory Data Reset.

Solution 6:

Boot your LG G3 into Recovery mode and wipe cache partition.

Solution 7:

Make sure you are using the original charger or try a different charger.

Solution 8:

Keyboard Lag On LG G3

The keyboard is one of the important parts on a smartphone because, without it, we cannot send any message. But, you can try these potential solutions to deal with that issue.

Solution 1:

Clear keyboard cache by going to Settings > Apps > find and tap your keyboard app  > tap Clear cache.

Solution 2:

Try a third party keyboard app by going to Play Store, look up for keyboards, and try one of them.

Solution 3:

Perform a factory reset: Settings > General > Backup & Reset > Factory data reset > Reset phone > Erase everything. Don’t forget to back up your data first.

 

LG G3 Wi-fi Not Connecting Issue

You don’t have to worry if you are facing a Wi-Fi not connecting issue. Just simply follow these solutions to fix it.

Solution 1:

Turn off your router and then turn it back on.

Solution 2:

Remove the battery, wait for a few minutes. Put the battery back to your smartphone and turn on the phone.

Solution 3:

Go to Settings > Wifi >  press on your router for a few seconds and tap Forget Network. Then, try to reconnect again.

Solution 4:

Turn off Battery Saver.

Solution 5:

Turn off the Bluetooth of your LG G3 if it’s on.

Solution 6:

Tap the menu button on the WiFi screen, go to Advanced WiFi and change the settings. Try to connect 5 GHz.

Solution 7:

Install WiFi Analyzer app to check if the channels are too busy. If you find it so, switch to less busy channel.

Solution 8:

Make sure your router has the latest firmware by verify it to manufacture.

 

Lagging Issue On LG G3

Some users reported that their LG G3 has a lagging issue. It’s such a common issue and here are some solutions to fix that.

Solution 1:

Close the background running apps: Settings > App > tap Running, and close all the opened applications.

Solution 2:

Update the OS.

Solution 3:

Change the phone settings: Settings > Accessibility > Touch Feedback Time and adjusting it there.

Solution 4:

Uninstall the apps you downloaded recently. If this step doesn’t solve the problem, clear the cache.

Solution 5:

Install TWRP custom recovery tool kit. After the installation process is done, set the phone to Recovery mode. Then, switch off the phone and switch it back on. Press the power and the volume buttons together for a minute when it is booting. Once the LG logo appears, release and hold both buttons again and the phone will restart.

 

Bluetooth Has Stopped Issue On LG G3

If a Bluetooth has stopped on LG G3, try to solve it by following these simple solutions below.

Solution 1:

Root your phone to install the custom mods. After you install the custom mod, the next step is to reboot your phone. To do so, press and hold the power button until the “Phone options screen” appears. Then, select “Power off and restart”, and press “OK”.

Solution 2:

Reset the Bluetooth app: Settings > Application Manager > Bluetooth > Reset the app. Turn on the Bluetooth and check if it’s working now?

Solution 3:

Perform the factory reset by pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons together at the same time until the LG logo appears. Release the power button and press it again immediately and some options will appear. Select Factory Data Reset using volume button. If you are asked to Erase All User Data and Restore Default Settings, choose “Yes”.
