iPhone 7 Will Be Waterproof And Has A Hidden Antenna Design

The next generation of the iPhone will be waterproof and has a new rear case with a hidden antenna, as it’s quoted from DigiTimes. This news came from a popular chassis manufacturer, Catcher Technology in Taiwan through a research firm, written by Chinese-language Commercial Times.

Catcher is the largest chassis supplier for Apple’s iPhone product and will still become the biggest Apple partner in chassis manufacture for the next iPhone generation.

“Although iPhone’s shipments are expected to drop 30% sequentially in the first quarter of 2017, Catcher’s consolidated revenues from non-Apple clients, which account for about 40% of its overall sales, will continue to grow thanks to these clients’ new products for the first half of 2017, the paper noted”

“The upcoming new iPhone products are rumored to be waterproof and use new compound materials to hide the antenna” the paper added.

The development of the next gen iPhone becomes waterproof, and it is in accordance with the patent they have proposed: “Methods for shielding electronic components from moisture”.

Currently, iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are water resistant by shield pad, an internal component to prevent water damage, but are not waterproof.
