iPhone 7 reportedly will have some interesting features. It will be waterproof, it will come with the wireless charging support and will not have a headphone jack, as it is reported by Fast Company. These three things have been discussed before, but the report from Fast Company confirms this rumor.
“Apple’s next big phone—presumably called the iPhone 7—will come without a 3.5mm headphone jack, will be noticeably thinner, will very likely support wireless charging and be waterproof, a source with knowledge of the company’s plans tells Fast Company.”

Apple will cooperate with Cirrus Logic to make an audio chipset to work with the lightning port. Moreover, this audio system will have a new noise-canceling technology from Wolfson Microelectrics, a company recently acquired by Cirrus. The Fast Company’s source also believes that the new EarPods that is connected with the lightning port will be sold separately, possibly under the Beats brand. If it’s true, this is in line with the previous report, where Apple will provide a Bluetooth wireless headset in the box. For the third headphone makers, they need to purchase a license to be able to use this technology.
Regarding the support toward wireless charging, there is no further information. Whether Apple will cooperate with the other company in terms of technology license or make their own wireless charging version as it’s seen from the patent they proposed. The patent has the name “Inductive Power Transfer Using Acoustic or Haptic Devices.” It will utilize the coil on the taptic engine as a method of inducing an electric current wirelessly to charge the iPhone 7. The last one, iPhone 7 will be completely waterproof with the method that has been patented with the title “Methods for shielding electronic components from moisture”.
