Get rid of the apps you don’t use

When you purchased the phone, you probably installed tons of apps from the Play Store. Do you use all third-party apps you have installed? I bet you don’t, so what you should do is simply get rid of the apps you don’t need anymore. From the Home screen tap Apps followed by Edit (located at the top of the screen). Next, tap on the (-) next to the application you wish to remove. The icon (-) will be next to each third-party app. The message will appear on the screen, so to confirm the action tap “Uninstall” and the app will be removed.

Uninstall Facebook and Messenger apps

These days it is really hard to imagine the life without Facebook and Messenger, but if you want your battery to last longer, you should remove these two apps. Before you say “No chance!”, just a little reminder: you can always access Facebook through its website. These apps are considered as power-hungry, so just change your habits a bit and you will notice a huge difference.

Disable pre-installed apps

There are tons of pre-installed apps on every smartphone, and even if you are not using them, they will still run in the background, eating your battery. These apps cannot be uninstalled, but what you can do is to disable them.

Turn off Wi-Fi, GPS, mobile data and Bluetooth when you don’t need them

You don’t need these services all day long, so it is advisable to turn them off when not in use. You can do all this in a few seconds with just a couple of clicks, and your battery will be very thankful.

Disable Automatic brightness

When it comes to smartphones, one of the biggest battery eaters is the display and when the automatic brightness option is turned on, the battery will drain faster. Simply disable this option and lower the brightness level a bit. It is a simple thing you can do that can have a huge impact on the battery, so you don’t have to charge your phone as often as you do at the moment. Go to Settings, tap on Display, turn off Automatic brightness and set the level of brightness manually.

When needed use the Power Saving mode

Almost all smartphone snow have the Power Saving mode, which is not surprising considering the fact that battery drain is one of the biggest issues. When needed, you can always enable the Power Saving mode on your Samsung Galaxy S6, so that you can use your device for a bit longer when you are not able to charge it. There are two options: Power Saving Mode and Ultra Power Saving Mode. The first option will not have a huge impact on the functionality of your device and it can extend the battery for about 10 %. On the other hand, Ultra Power Saving Mode can really boost the battery life, but as soon as you turn it on, many services and apps will be disabled.

Try these simple things, and you will instantly notice the difference!
