HTC Unveils HTC U23 Pro: The Latest Addition to the U-Series Lineup

Taiwan-based phone manufacturer HTC has officially announced the HTC U23 Pro, marking the company's return to the U-series smartphone lineup since the launch of the U20 5G in 2020. The device boasts a range of impressive features, setting it apart in the competitive smartphone market.
The HTC U23 Pro is equipped with a 6.7-inch OLED display protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, offering a crisp FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is the mid-range Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, delivering reliable performance.
Users have configuration options to choose from, including a model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, as well as a variant with 12GB of RAM paired with 256GB of storage. Additionally, the phone offers a microSD slot to expand storage capacity if needed. Notably, the rumored 108MP primary camera on the rear module has proven to be true, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro camera for close-ups, and a 2MP depth sensor. Selfie enthusiasts will appreciate the 32MP front-facing centered hole-punch camera.
The HTC U23 Pro distinguishes itself by including a 3.5mm earphone jack, ensuring convenience for users who prefer wired audio solutions. It is also rated IP67 for dust and water protection, allowing the device to be submerged in clear water up to a depth of 3 feet 4 inches (1 meter) for 30 minutes. The phone is equipped with a 4600mAh battery, supporting both 30W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Moreover, it features reverse wireless charging, enabling compatible devices to utilize the rear panel as a wireless charging pad. The fingerprint sensor is seamlessly integrated with the power button located along the right side of the phone.
Running on Android 13 out of the box, the HTC U23 Pro comes pre-installed with HTC's VIVERSE app, allowing compatibility with the VIVE XR Elite mixed reality headset (sold separately). The device supports 5G connectivity and is available in Coffee Black and Snow White color options. The 8GB RAM model is priced at $550 (€510/INR45,505), while the 12GB variant is slightly higher at $585 (€540/INR48,185).
Interested customers can pre-order the HTC U23 Pro through the company's U.K. online store. The Coffee Black version will start shipping on June 5th, while the Snow White version is set for release on June 18th. As an added incentive, those who pre-order between now and June 4th will receive a complimentary pair of wireless earbuds valued at £69/$86.
