On Roblox, "verified" can mean several different things. There's email and phone verification, age checks with a selfie or ID, and the blue Verified Badge you see next to famous creators. Here's how to complete each one you qualify for and how to tell the badges apart.
Verify your email address first
A verified email underpins account security and recovery.
- 1.Sign in to Roblox. In a browser, click the gear icon in the upper right and choose Settings. In the mobile app, tap More (...), then Settings.
- 2.Select Account Info, then Add Email.
- 3.Enter your email address.
- 4.Open the message Roblox sends you and follow its verification instructions.
- 5.No email? Check your Spam or Junk folder and allow messages from [email protected].
To switch to a different address later, open Account Info, tap Update Email (the pencil-and-paper icon), enter the new address and your current password, then follow the email sent to the new address. Your old address gets an alert about the change.
Add and verify a phone number
This gives accounts aged 13 and up in supported countries a second verified contact method.
Open Settings, go to Account Info, then tap Add Phone.
Select your location and enter your number along with your account password.
Type in the security code Roblox sends by SMS or WhatsApp.
To change an existing number, choose Update Phone, then Edit Phone or Remove Phone Number.
If you once opted out of Roblox texts, send START, YES, or UNSTOP to resume delivery.
A number can belong to only one Roblox account. If there's no Phone Number field at all, phone verification isn't offered in your country.
Accounts belonging to kids under 13
Players under 13 don't verify their own email. Instead, a parent verifies a parental recovery email on the child's account.
On the child's account, open Settings and then Account Info. The parent adds their email there and completes the verification. It can be a different address from the one on the parent's own linked Roblox account.
Parent privileges require a separate parent account verified as an adult. From the child's account, go to Settings, then Parental Controls, then Add parent, and complete the ID or credit card verification before selecting Agree.
You can also start from Roblox's parental invitation email by choosing Create account or Use existing account. Your parent account's email must match the address the invitation went to. Facial age estimation may also be offered during parent account setup, depending on your region.
Check your age with a selfie or ID
Open Settings, then Account info, and look under Age Group.
For the selfie route, tap Continue with selfie and follow the camera prompts for facial age estimation.
For the ID route, open to users 13 and older with their own government-issued photo ID, tap Continue with ID beneath your birthday and age group, then Continue.
Allow camera access.
Photograph your ID, including the back if it has a barcode.
Take the requested photo of yourself.
Return to Roblox to see your result. Availability and parental consent rules vary by region.
If the estimate is wrong and shows you as over 13, correct it with Continue with ID.
If it shows you as under 13, tap the pencil beside your birthday, enter the right date, and follow the prompts.
If you were wrongly placed in the 18+ group, use Reset beneath your birthday and age group, then Continue. This works once per account.
Tip: phone verification no longer unlocks Voice Chat. If you're 13 or older, have completed an age check, and Voice Chat is available in your region, enter a supported experience and select the headphone icon or open Voice Chat in the in-experience settings.
How the blue Verified Badge is earned
Regular creators can't apply for the blue badge. Roblox issues it monthly to accounts and groups that meet these conditions.
- 1.Hit one qualifying route: own an experience (or receive at least 10% of automatic group payouts) with over 1 million playtime hours in 90 days, earn at least 2 million Robux and sell at least 200,000 items as an avatar creator in 90 days, or join the Video Stars program.
- 2.Complete government ID verification.
- 3.Turn on an authenticator app for two-step verification.
- 4.Stay active on Roblox within 180 days.
Brands and public figures with Roblox partnerships contact their partnership representative instead.
Video creators apply to Video Stars at influencers.roblox.com through Apply now. Minimums are 100,000 followers with 25,000 average views for long-form, 100,000 followers with 50,000 average views for short-form, or 10,000 followers with 300 average concurrent viewers for livestreams, averaged over six months. Content must be in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, or Korean, and you must be accepted.
Telling real badges from lookalikes
A genuine blue badge appears right beside the display name on profiles, the Marketplace, item and experience pages, and search results. A checkmark in someone's bio or profile picture means nothing.
Achievement badges are a separate system. Open your Inventory, choose Badges, and select one to read its earning requirements.
The Administrator badge belongs only to Roblox staff, and no account verification awards it. If someone claims to work for Roblox without it, use Report Abuse. Talent Hub ID badges are also different from the blue badge.
Why badges disappear and how to get one back
Changing your username, display name, or group ownership can revoke the blue badge. So can turning off your authenticator, breaking Roblox rules, or spoofing.
For a removal that wasn't a policy violation, restore your original username and display name, make sure your ID verification is in place, and turn the authenticator back on.
If the badge still doesn't return, contact Roblox Customer Support with your username and details of the account changes you made.
Set up two-step verification
This protects your login and covers the authenticator requirement for the blue badge.
Install an authenticator app. Microsoft Authenticator for iOS and Android is one option Roblox supports.
Open Settings, go to Security, and enable the authenticator method, finishing the setup prompts.
Under Security, choose recovery codes, then Generate.
Enter your password and save the codes somewhere safe.
When Roblox challenges a login, enter the code from your app or use Backup Code. Each backup code works once.
If you lose access to your account entirely, contact Customer Support from the account's first email address or the billing email of its first payment. Recovery isn't guaranteed.
