The apps you won’t be able to remove are the part of Mac OS X, such as Mail, or Safari. You can uninstall all the other apps you downloaded from the Mac App Store or some website.
If you want to uninstall programs on Mac, and remove the apps you got from the Mac App Store, follow the steps listed below:
- Find the Launchpad in the Dock and click on it
- Choose the app you want to uninstall and hold its icon
- You will notice the icons of all the apps will start to jiggle
- Click on the X button and the app will be uninstalled
- In case you change your mind later, go to the Mac App Store and reinstall the application.
If the icon of the app you want to remove does not have the X button, it means it cannot be deleted in the Launchpad.
Click Applications in the Finder sidebar. If the application you wish to uninstall is inside a folder, open that folder. See if there is the (App) Uninstaller or Uninstall (App). If there is, double click on that, and just follow the given instructions.
