Razer controller setup gets confusing because there is no single app for every controller. Xbox-style Wolverine models, PlayStation-style Raiju models, Kishi mobile controllers, and 8K PC Wolverine models all use different setup paths. Match your controller first, then use the supported app to configure firmware, profiles, button mapping, vibration, RGB, remote play, or streaming features.

1. Match your controller to the correct Razer app

Use Razer Controller Setup For Xbox for supported Wolverine controllers on Windows PC or Xbox console. Use the Razer PS Controller App on iOS or Android for Razer Raiju V3 Pro, Raiju Tournament Edition, Raiju Ultimate, and Wolverine V2 Pro.

Use Razer Nexus on iOS or Android for Kishi V3 Pro, Kishi V3 Pro XL, Kishi V3, Kishi Ultra, Kishi V2 Pro for Android, and Kishi V2. Use Razer Synapse 4 for Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC and Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition 8K PC on Windows.

2. Install Razer Controller Setup For Xbox

This fixes Wolverine setup when the controller uses the Microsoft Store app. Open the Microsoft Store page for Razer Controller Setup For Xbox on your Windows PC or Xbox console, then select Install.

Connect a supported controller, including Wolverine Ultimate, Wolverine Tournament Edition, Wolverine V2, Wolverine V2 Chroma, Wolverine V3 Pro, or Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition. Open Razer Controller Setup For Xbox, then use the app prompts for Firmware, RGB, Remapping, Thumbstick Sensitivity, and Vibration Intensity.

3. Connect a Wolverine V3 Pro before configuring it

For Wolverine V3 Pro, plug the HyperSpeed Wireless Dongle into your PC or Xbox, then press and hold the Xbox button until the controller powers on. The controller connects automatically, and Razer Controller Setup For Xbox then handles firmware prompts and controller settings. To change hardware modes, press Function + Menu + X for Xbox mode, or Function + Menu + A for PC mode.

4. Remap buttons in the Xbox controller app

This fixes button layouts that do not match your preferred profile. Open Razer Controller Setup For Xbox with your supported Wolverine controller connected, then select your profile. Choose Edit, open Assign Buttons, and select the button you want to change. Select the new function, then choose Done.

5. Pair and remap with the Razer PS Controller App

Download the Razer PS Controller App for iOS or Android from Razer's supported app links. Power on your supported controller, enable pairing mode on the controller, then launch the Razer PS Controller App.

Add your controller, then select the matching product. To remap supported controls, open Profile, tap a profile under Profiles, choose M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, or M6, then select a new function. For Raiju V3 Pro pairing, set the controller to wireless PC mode, then hold the function button and mic mute button until the LED blinks blue.

6. Use Razer Nexus for Kishi controllers

Download and install Razer Nexus for iOS or Android. Connect the Kishi controller to your phone or tablet, then launch Razer Nexus, or press the Nexus button on supported Kishi controllers to open it immediately.

Use the Nexus menu for Firmware Update, Remapping, streaming, and game discovery. Virtual Controller is there too, but Razer lists it as an Android-only feature. To update firmware, tap the update notification in the main menu for the product, then follow the on-screen instructions.

For Kishi V2 M-button remapping, go to the Nexus menu, tap Remapping, tap M1 or M2, then choose the key you want to map. The old Razer Kishi app is not the normal Google Play setup path because Razer says Kishi V1 was added to Razer Nexus and the old Kishi app was discontinued from Google Play on January 15, 2025.

7. Turn on Virtual Controller and remote play

This fixes games and streaming sessions that need the Razer Nexus software layer. Virtual Controller works on Android devices only, and the toggle only appears for games that support it, so iPhone users skip straight to the remote play steps.

Attach your Virtual Controller-compatible device to your Razer Edge or mobile device. Install and launch Razer Nexus, select a game from the Razer Nexus dashboard, then turn on Virtual Controller before launching the game. For PS Remote Play on Android, launch PS Remote Play through Razer Nexus while Virtual Controller is enabled.

For Razer PC Remote Play, set up the Windows host first: in Razer Cortex, go to LAUNCHER > REMOTE PLAY, select RUN AS HOST, select INSTALL, then select START HOSTING once the install finishes. Leave the host PC powered on and signed in to the same Razer ID as your mobile device. To stream outside your home network, your router also needs UPnP or manual port forwarding enabled.

On your mobile device, open Razer Nexus, then open Razer PC Remote Play Setup. Select Computers, then pair the host PC under UNPAIRED PC. It is listed there only when both devices use the same Razer ID; otherwise you are prompted for a four-digit PIN code to enter on your PC. Select REMOTE PLAY after the PC appears under PAIRED PC as Available.

8. Configure 8K PC Wolverine models in Synapse 4

Install or upgrade to Razer Synapse 4 on your Windows PC. For Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC, select Wolverine V3 Pro 8k PC, then open Customize. Select the button you want to edit, select a new function, then choose Save.

For Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition 8K PC, connect the controller to your PC with the provided cable, select Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition 8k PC, open Customize, edit the button, select a new function, then choose Save. To set polling rate on Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition 8K PC, select 8000 under the polling rate option.

9. Fix common Razer controller app problems

This fixes app behavior that blocks setup, remapping, language, or controller input. If the Xbox app language is wrong, log out and back into your Xbox Live account, then reinstall the app. The app language follows your system language or default input language.

If the Quick Control Panel remap and profile buttons stop responding while Razer Controller Setup For Xbox is active, close the app by pressing B on the home page. The active profile returns to the onboard profile when the app closes.

If the Razer PS Controller App misbehaves on iOS, update the app. If the Razer PS Controller App misbehaves on Android, open Settings, open Apps, find Razer PS Controller App, then clear data and cache. If Kishi or Razer controller buttons fail on Android 11, disable the phone's Accessibility option, including enabled services such as Macrodroid, Tasker, Autoclicker, Automate, and similar apps.

If you need to remove the Windows app, open Start, open Settings, open Apps, open Installed apps, find the app, select More, then choose Uninstall. If Microsoft Store is blocked on a managed work or school PC, ask the administrator to allow Store access or deploy Razer Controller Setup For Xbox.
