Capturing what's on your Nothing Phone (3) screen is one of those everyday tasks that feels essential. Whether you're saving a funny meme, documenting an error message, or sharing a part of a conversation, knowing the quickest way to grab a screenshot makes life easier. Nothing OS 3.0 offers several intuitive methods, including a few gestures that are particularly handy.

Use the Classic Button Combo

The most reliable method on almost any Android phone, including the Nothing Phone (3), is the button combination. Simply press the Volume Down button and the Power button at the exact same time. Hold them for just a split second before releasing.

You'll see a quick flash or animation on the screen, likely accompanied by a shutter sound. A small preview thumbnail will pop up in the corner, which you can tap to edit or share right away. If you ignore it, the screenshot saves automatically to your gallery.

Take a Screenshot with a Quick Gesture

This is where the Nothing Phone (3) gets interesting. You can enable a gesture to take a screenshot by swiping with three fingers. First, you need to turn this feature on in your settings.

Go to Settings > System > Gestures. Look for an option like "Three-finger screenshot" or "Swipe to screenshot" and toggle it on. Once activated, you can simply swipe down anywhere on the screen with three fingers to instantly capture it.

I find this method is fantastic when you're reading an article or in an app where using the physical buttons might be awkward. It's fast and feels very natural once you get the hang of it.

Use the Power Menu Option

Another quick method is available right from your phone's power menu. Press and hold the Power button until the power-off and restart menu appears on screen. Alongside those options, you should see a Screenshot button.

Tapping it will instantly capture whatever was on your display before you opened the menu. This is a great backup if the three-finger swipe isn't working for you or if you prefer a more deliberate tap.

Add a Screenshot Tile to Quick Settings

For one-tap access, you can add a dedicated screenshot button to your Quick Settings panel. Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to expand the full panel, then tap the pencil or edit icon to customize your tiles.

Look through the list of available tiles for Screenshot and drag it up into your active Quick Settings row. Now, whenever you need a screenshot, just pull down your notification shade and tap that tile. It's as simple as turning on your flashlight.

Capture Scrolling or Long Screenshots

Need to save an entire webpage, a long chat history, or a tall document? The Nothing Phone (3) supports scrolling screenshots. After you take a regular screenshot using any method, look at the preview that pops up at the bottom of the screen.

You should see an option labeled Capture more or Scroll. Tap it, and your phone will automatically extend the screenshot downward. You can usually tap it multiple times to keep capturing more of the page until you have everything you need in one long image.

Edit and Share Immediately

The moment you take a screenshot, that preview thumbnail is your gateway to quick edits. Tap on it before it disappears. This opens a simple editor where you can crop the image, draw on it with a pen or highlighter, add text, or blur sensitive information.

From the same editor, tap the share icon to send the screenshot directly through any messaging, email, or social media app installed on your phone. It's a seamless way to capture and send information without ever leaving the app you're in.

Find Your Saved Screenshots

If you dismiss the preview, your screenshot is still safely saved. The easiest place to find it is in the Google Photos app. Open it and navigate to the Library tab, then look for the Screenshots album. All your captures will be organized there.

You can also find the image files directly through your file manager. Look in Internal storage > Pictures > Screenshots. This is useful if you need to attach a screenshot from a specific file browser window.
