Forgot your Roblox password and can't sign in? Start with Roblox Account Recovery to create a new password using your account's email address or verified phone number. If you can't use either, check the recovery options Roblox offers your account, then contact Support if you're still locked out.

Reset your password by email

Start with the email address associated with your Roblox account.

  1. 1.Open Roblox's login page and select Forgot Password or Username?, or open Roblox Account Recovery directly.
  2. 2.Enter your email in Username/Email/Phone, then select Next. Select Send me a code if prompted.
  3. 3.Check that inbox and enter the six-digit code under Enter the code.
  4. 4.Choose your account if several appear, then complete any additional verification.
  5. 5.If Protect your account offers a choice, select Create new password.
  6. 6.Fill in New password and Confirm new password, then select Update password.

Use your verified phone number

Phone recovery works when Roblox accepts a verified phone number already associated with your account. Adding a phone number is limited to users 13 and older in supported countries.

Open Roblox Account Recovery.

Enter your phone number under Username/Email/Phone with the correct country prefix.

Select Next.

Select Send me a code if prompted.

Check SMS or WhatsApp for the six-digit code.

Enter it under Enter the code.

Choose your account if several appear.

Complete any additional verification Roblox requests.

Select Create new password when offered.

Fill in New password and Confirm new password.

Select Update password.

Try other recovery options without your usual email

No access to your usual email or phone? Roblox also offers billing-email and trusted-location recovery to eligible accounts. Your account and session determine which options appear.

Enter your username in Username/Email/Phone on the recovery page.

Select Next.

If Roblox offers billing-email recovery, enter an email previously used for a Roblox purchase. Roblox must recognize and accept it; a purchase email does not guarantee recovery.

Select Next or Send me a code, as displayed.

Enter the emailed code under Enter the code.

Choose your account if prompted.

Complete any further verification.

If Roblox instead displays a trusted-location recovery message, select Reset password, or Continue for the combined two-step-verification recovery branch. Roblox shows this option only when it recognizes that you're accessing your account from a trusted location.

Select Create new password when offered.

Fill in New password and Confirm new password.

Complete Add an email if required.

Select Update password.

Review Update Your Email if prompted after billing-email recovery.

If neither option appears or recovery fails, use the Roblox Support form.

Ask Roblox Support to recover your account

Use Support when you have no usable recovery contact information or self-service recovery fails.

  1. 1.Open the Roblox Support form. If someone changed your password or recovery email, contact Support using the first email added to the account or the billing email used for its first payment.
  2. 2.Provide your account name in Roblox Username.
  3. 3.Select your device under What device are you having the problem on?.
  4. 4.Choose the relevant option under Type of help category.
  5. 5.Explain the login problem in Description of issue. For a compromised account, describe what happened. If the account never had an email address or a credit card/PayPal purchase, explain that too; Roblox says it can still explore other options to verify ownership.
  6. 6.Complete the form's remaining prompts and Roblox's ownership checks. Roblox requires ownership verification before resetting an account or changing its information. Submitting the form or providing original account information does not guarantee recovery.

Change a password you still know on the website

Account settings let you replace a known password; being signed in alone does not remove the current-password requirement.

Sign in to the Roblox website.

Open the gear icon at the upper right.

Select Settings.

Open Account Info.

Select Change Password, shown with a pencil-and-paper icon.

Enter your current password.

Enter your new password twice.

Complete the password-change dialog.

If you've forgotten the current password, open Roblox Account Recovery.

Update your password in the mobile app

Sign in to the Roblox app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

Open the three-dots More menu.

Select Settings.

Open Account Info.

Select Change Password, shown with a pencil-and-paper icon.

Enter your current password.

Enter your new password twice.

Complete the password-change dialog.

Tip: If Roblox displays a security-warning banner, select its Change Password button to start a prompted change using your current password and a new, unique password.

Recover a child's Roblox password

For an under-13 account, use its registered parental recovery email. This address can differ from the email on the linked account with parent privileges.

Enter the child's parental recovery email under Username/Email/Phone in Roblox Account Recovery.

Complete the email-code process in the first section, including any requested verification and password creation.

To establish this recovery option while you still have account access, open the child's Settings.

Go to Account Info.

Verify your email as a parental recovery email.

Skip any old tutorial that tells you to unlock a Parent PIN. Roblox replaced Parent PIN with accounts with parent privileges; use the password-change or recovery process above.

Complete extra security checks during recovery

A new password doesn't remove your account's security checks. With two-step verification enabled, you must complete the challenge Roblox presents before finishing password creation.

At Enter a second verification method, use an eligible different email or phone already associated with the account, or select Use backup code when offered. If you've lost your primary verification method, Roblox can require two different recovery methods already associated with your account.

For a second-device login challenge, select the offered Email Me a Code or Backup Code option.

For an account enrolled in Enhanced Protection, complete applicable security challenges with a passkey or hardware security key. This requirement still applies when you use a password or email login code.

If you've lost that passkey, complete Roblox's multi-step recovery process.

If a Delayed Action alert appears, wait until its timer expires.

Return to the page to complete the action.

If Roblox offers verification with an established trusted passkey or hardware security key as a way to avoid the delay, use that option. Delay avoidance depends on the options Roblox offers for the request.

Use a familiar device and connection to reduce the likelihood of a security delay.

If you still cannot complete verification, select Contact Support when offered or open the Roblox Support form.

Restore access on consoles and Meta Quest

If you play on Xbox or PlayStation, reset your Roblox password on a phone or computer. Roblox directs console players with forgotten passwords to its standard account-recovery process.

Open Roblox Account Recovery on your phone or computer.

Complete the email, phone, or Support route above that applies to your account.

Return to Roblox on your console.

Sign in using the updated credentials or an available supported login method.

For Meta Quest 2, Quest Pro, or Quest 3, recover or change your password on a phone or computer first. Password login is unavailable on these headsets.

Use Quick Log In with your signed-in phone or computer to regain access on the headset.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does an email one-time login code change my password?

No. Select Email Me a One-Time Code when available to sign in with a verified account email. Enter the emailed six-digit code on the same device that requested it, then choose your account if several appear. This option is available only to eligible users. Use Account Recovery separately to create a new password.

Can Quick Login reset my Roblox password?

No. Quick Login provides access through an already signed-in nearby device. Select Log In with Another Device on the new device. On the signed-in device, open Account Settings > Quick Login, enter the displayed code, select Enter, review the details, and select Grant Full Account Access. The code lasts five minutes. Availability varies; use password recovery separately to create a new password.

Can I sign in with a passkey if I've forgotten my password?

Yes, if you previously registered a Roblox passkey. Authenticate using your device's unlock method or a compatible security key. For a passkey on another device, select Passkey from Nearby Device… or Use a Different Passkey from the browser's username field, then scan the QR code and follow the prompts. Signing in this way does not change your password.

Do I need to install anything to reset my Roblox password?

No. Browser-based password recovery requires no download or installation. Open Roblox Account Recovery in a desktop or mobile browser.
