Can't find the screen recording button on your Samsung Galaxy A50? Some A50 versions include Samsung's recorder, while others need a separate app. Start with Quick Settings to find yours, then use a compatible recording app if the feature is missing.

Start recording from Quick Settings

Swipe down twice from the top of the screen to open the full Quick Settings panel.

Tap Screen recorder.

Choose the sound setting you want for the recording.

Tap Start recording.

After the countdown, perform the actions you want to capture.

Tap the Stop icon to finish.

Tip: If the recorder button is missing, check the panel's available buttons next.

Find a hidden recorder button

Open the full Quick Settings panel with a two-finger downward swipe. Tap the three-dot options icon, then Edit buttons. On some devices, look for Button order instead.

Look for Screen recorder among the available buttons. If it's there, drag it into the panel and tap Done.

Editing the panel only rearranges features already on your phone. It won't add a recorder that the firmware doesn't include, so use a compatible recording app if Screen recorder isn't among the available buttons.

Samsung lists the Galaxy A50 SM-A505 as supported on Android 10 or later, but availability depends on your regional or carrier firmware. The Android version alone doesn't tell you whether your A50 includes the recorder.

Install a recording app if Samsung's recorder is missing

A separate recording app is Samsung's recommended alternative for phones without its built-in recorder. Compatibility depends on your phone, Android version, and region.

Open Play Store to find a compatible screen recorder, or use Galaxy Store to browse recording apps.

To use the Mobizen method below, find Mobizen Screen Recorder by MOBIZEN in Play Store.

Tap Install if the app is available for your A50.

If it isn't compatible, choose another recorder offered for your phone.

Capture your screen with Mobizen

Once Mobizen is installed, its floating control handles recording.

  1. 1.Open Mobizen.
  2. 2.Tap the floating aircircle, then tap Record.
  3. 3.Complete any permission or screen-capture confirmation shown by your phone.
  4. 4.Perform the actions you want to capture.
  5. 5.Stop the recording using Mobizen's recording controls.
  6. 6.Tap View video in the completion pop-up to watch your clip.

Adjust Samsung's sound and video settings

On A50 firmware that includes Samsung's recorder settings, you can change the audio, resolution, and selfie overlay before recording.

Open Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder > Screen recorder settings.

Adjust Sound to choose how your recording handles audio.

Choose Video quality to change the recording resolution.

Adjust Selfie video size to change the size of the selfie overlay.

Start your recording through Screen recorder in Quick Settings. The settings page configures the recorder; it doesn't start a recording.

If that settings page is absent, try the controls in your compatible recording app instead.

Check what's blocking recording

Protected apps can block screen capture. Samsung also says its recorder cannot record phone, VoIP, or video calls, so don't use a call to test whether your recorder works.

On a managed phone or work profile, an administrator can restrict screen capture. Ask your administrator to review and remove the applicable restriction when work-related recording is blocked. That restriction is set by the device or profile owner, so your administrator is the one who can lift it.
