There are basically two separate tutorials, one is for Windows, and the other one is for Mac because different tools are required. For Windows, it is Taig, and for Mac, it is a PP Jailbreak tool.

How to jailbreak iPhone 5s

Basically, you will need a couple of minutes to jailbreak iPhone 5s, and before you begin, use iTunes or iCloud to back up your data and files. Also, make sure to disable firewalls and your antivirus software.

Windows

There are a couple of steps only:

  • Download the tool called Taig Jailbreak tool from here and then unzip the file.
  • The next step is to connect your iPhone 5s to your computer. Use the USB cable.
  • In order to proceed, you need to disable Passcode, and to do that, just click on Settings > Touch ID & Passcode.
  • Another step is to turn off Find my iPhone. Click on Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone.
  • To launch the Taig exe file you previously downloaded, right click on the file, and from all the listed options, choose Run as administrator.
  • Taig will detect your iPhone 5s, and when it does, check the firmware version. It should be 8.1.2.
  • Then, you will see two checkboxes. Leave Cydia as it is, and uncheck the other one in Chinese, located below Cydia.
  • To start jailbreak, click on the green button.
  • When it’s completed, your iPhone 5s will reboot, and you will find a Cydia icon on the Home screen.
  • As the last step, enable Find my iPhone and Passcode.

Mac

Here are the steps for Mac:

  • Download the tool called PP Jailbreak tool from here, and then unzip the file.
  • The next step is to connect youriPhone 5s to your computer. Use the USB cable.
  • In order to proceed, you need to disable Passcode, and to do that, just click on Settings > Touch ID & Passcode.
  • Another step is to turn off Find my iPhone. Click on Settings > iCloud > Find my iPhone.
  • Click on the PP file two times, and the jailbreak tool will detect your iPhone 5s. The version of the firmware should be 8.1.2.
  • Next, you will notice a checkbox in the PP window, untick it, and click on the button in the center. You’ll get two new windows, and click on the one located on the right. The jailbreak will begin.
  • When it’s done, your iPhone 5s will reboot.
  • To download new apps, click on the Cydia icon. You’ll see it on the Home screen.
  • As the last step, enable Find my iPhone and Passcode.
