Your Straight Talk password reset is stuck, the email is missing, or the verification code never lands. Start with the current account recovery paths Straight Talk supports: the website, the My Straight Talk app, or the PASSWORD text command to 611611.

You need access to the email address or phone number already on the account for most reset options. If those are blocked, skip repeat attempts and move straight to Straight Talk support with your account details ready.

Start with the Straight Talk website reset

Use the web reset when you can open Straight Talk in a browser and have access to the email address or phone number on your account.

Go to StraightTalk.com and open Log In. Enter your Phone #, Email, Serial, or SIM #, then select Continue.

Choose Forgot Password. Follow the reset instructions sent to the email address or phone number on the account.

If you no longer have access to either one, stop repeating the same reset and use Straight Talk support instead.

Use the My Straight Talk app reset flow

This method applies when you use the My Straight Talk app on iPhone or Android, or when the website reset fails before the password page.

Open the My Straight Talk app and choose a login option.

Enter your phone number, email address, serial number, or SIM number, then tap Continue.

Select Forgot Password. Enter the email address or phone number registered to the account, then tap Send.

Open the password request email or SMS link and follow the instructions to create the new password.

If the app is missing or out of date, go to Straight Talk's app page, choose GET iOS APP or GET ANDROID APP, install or update the official app, then run Forgot Password again.

Reset by texting Straight Talk

When the website and app do not get the reset started, use Straight Talk's 611611 password help from a phone that sends SMS.

  1. 1.Open your phone's messaging app.
  2. 2.Text PASSWORD to 611611.
  3. 3.Follow the automated reply instructions from Straight Talk.

Give the reset email enough time

In the My Straight Talk app, choose your login option.

Enter your login information, tap Continue, then select Forgot password?.

Enter the email address associated with the My Account app, tap Send, then tap Ok.

It can take about 5 minutes to receive the Password Reset Request email. Tap the email notification labeled Your Password Request, then select Click here to reset your password.

If your phone asks which app to use, choose a browser. Enter the new password in New Password, select RESET PASSWORD, return to the My Straight Talk app, and sign in with the new password.

The reset link expires 30 minutes after you receive it, so start over when the link is already too old.

Sign in another way and change the password

If the reset link is the only part failing, use passwordless sign-in to get back into the account first. On the Straight Talk login page, enter your Phone #, Email, Serial, or SIM #, choose Continue, then select Send a verification code instead.

After verification, go to Account & Payment and select Edit to change the password. Straight Talk sends a One-Time PIN by text before you save the update.

If your account is eligible for Facebook login and you previously linked it, choose Log In With Facebook on the Straight Talk login page. Once you are back in, use Account & Payment and Edit to update the Straight Talk password.

Fix missing verification codes

The most common cause is a delayed two-step verification message when you are changing the password while already signed in.

In the My Straight Talk app, tap the Profile icon.

Open Profile, go to Login Information, and choose Change Account Password.

When Two step verification appears, enter the verification code and tap Verify.

If the code does not arrive after a few minutes, stay on the Verify the code you received screen and tap Click here to get a new code.

After verification, choose Edit next to Login information, update the password, and tap Save.

Contact Straight Talk when reset access is blocked

This applies when the account email, SMS, reset link, passwordless verification, and Facebook login options are unavailable.

Go to Straight Talk's contact support page and use ONLINE CHAT, or call 1-877-430-CELL(2355).

For technical issues, call from an alternate device.

Have your Straight Talk cell phone number ready. Keep the Straight Talk MEID DEC or serial number available too.

You can also start from Straight Talk's support site, choose Need Help Troubleshooting, then use Troubleshooting or Chat with Support. If the automated assistant cannot resolve the issue, use Chat with Support or Call Directly.

Ignore old reset URL editing advice

Older fixes sometimes tell you to edit reset links that used a /wps/portal path.

Do not use that as a current Straight Talk password reset fix.

Use the current login page, the My Straight Talk app, the PASSWORD text to 611611, or Straight Talk support instead.

Those are the supported recovery paths for consumer accounts.
