How to fix LG G8 GPS issues

In order to offer high-precision GPS positioning for its customers, the LG Company has equipped the LG G8 model with A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO and BDS satellite navigation systems. Some LG G8 users have reported having issues with their GPS systems. In most cases, GPS navigation systems fail to function accurately when the GPS antenna in your smartphone is broken or when it has some issues. And at times the GPS problem may come about as a result of a software malfunction in your device. Also, the GPS may fail due to a simple glitch. Here are some tips on how you can fix GPS on LG G8.

Toggle Airplane mode

Before you go to other solutions, start with this simple thing. All you need to do is turn the Airplane mode on, leave it like that for 15 to 20 seconds, and turn it back off. This is an old trick that worked for many Android users.

Turn GPS Location On

The first thing that you should do is to ensure that your GPS is not turned OFF. To turn ON GPS location follow the steps below:

Go to Settings > Lock screen & Security
Toggle Location
Turn location switch
Tap Agree when the disclaimer review pops up.

You should remember that the GPS system uses a lot of juice from your battery so remember to turn it OFF after you are done.

Modify GPS Settings

The next thing that you can do to solve GPS related issues on your LG G8 is to modify the settings by making them more precise.

This will enable GPS satellites to transmit real-time information about your current location. To get accurate GPS readings from your Home screen tap Settings > Lock screen & Security > Location, and then slide the Location switch on. Tap “Mode” and select “High accuracy”.

Reboot your Phone

This can help in solving most of the miner connection problems that you may experience when using your phone. When you reboot your phone, all the radio transmissions on your device will be disabled and will come back online after it is done rebooting. This will reset the radios back to their default mode so if there was a glitch within the radio transmission system it will go away after rebooting. After you reboot your phone turn On GPS location and wait for the available GPS satellite to connect to your phone.

Download GPS App

Your LG G8 may be having issues with GPS locations due to the fact that it can’t locate the available GPS satellites easily. To help speed up the rate at which your phone connects to the available GPS satellites you will have to download the GPS Status & Toolbox app which is available on Google Play. This app can help your phone to get a quick GPS lock and increase the accuracy of your GPS location. Update the Software

Always ensure that your system is up to date because some software malfunctions come after new updates have been released. So you may be having problems with the GPS system on your phone simply because you are using an old version of the software needed. This can make the GPS satellites not to support connection requests from your device.
