  • If you see the option to connect 5 GHz instead of 2.4 GHz, try it out.
  • Sometimes, crowded channels cause the LG G3 Wi-Fi not connecting issue. You can install WiFi Analyzer app that shows the channels around you and helps you find the less crowded ones.

  1. tried all you suggested and does not connect my LG phone to wii fi, however, my othter samsung phone hooks up, so what gives. Yes, I removed battery, yes, i soft book the rotor, yes, i went to 5g, etc…

  2. None of this helped. Sometimes it will stay connected overnight then drop off repeatedly in the afternoon. Other times it drops at random.
Cannot find 2.5 or 5 ghz option on my LG Harmony.
This phone is a warranty replacement. I did not have this problem with the original.

  3. I ended up using Airplane Mode on a Sprint LG G3 Vigor, which elimated any conflicts between the wif-fi and phone. This eliminated the wi-fi connection problem. Was also able to use wi-fi calling in lieu of the normal network calling.

This is not an elegant (or even optimal) solution, but it does work when downloading large amounts of data without using your data plan. I do not need to “jerry-rig” such a solution with my other smartphones.

  4. I factory reset mine and now it won’t connect to the Wi-Fi I have tried everything I think of I know I’m putting the password in right and the Wi-Fi is working cause all the other phones are connected what do I do

  5. Comment:why is my data not turning on… Can you please help me out because when I go to the network settings I can’t find the Access point there.

  6. I don’t have no sad card and I did the lg back and reset thing and now my phone say no connections allowed what do I do so my phone can show wifi again.

  7. I purchased a Pantech VEGA Iron 2 and was very stable and never gave me issues, I lost it after bees got into my car while I was on the highway and by reflex action I threw it through the window. I then purchesed this stupid LG 3 and bearly 4 months after I bought it, It cannot recognize the wifi of my house or even all other places I used to connect before. I have the tried the resolutions indicated above but all in vain, I regret buying this crazy thing from LG. I will return to my beloved old school PAntect VEGA Iron 2. It was very stable and never gave me troubles. and almost had the same feautures found the LG 3.

  8. One morning my phone suddenly disconnected from wifi, and now my bluetooth, wifi, and data all refuse to connect. I was hoping to find some better answers in this thread. I tried a lot of these things, and just as they start working, my phone resets itself, and when it powers back on, it is back to being broken. Help???

  9. I had the issue and called T-Mobile customer service. Initially rebooting even with battery out had not helped. This time around he asked me to power off, battery and SD card out and then press the power button for 15 seconds. This somehow discharged any residual charge in the system. When I powered back again, wifi was working!!

    1. Thank you for your comment, Hrishi Sathawane. I tried your method and it worked! Hope it lasts because I really like the LG G3 phone.

  10. I am also having same issue wifi is not working and i needs to restart many times in lg g3 mobile Lg company need to be resolve this issue and also having network issue, some times call drops and mobile network is in unavialable mode, i had tried many ways to resolve but it is not working

    1. Have you tried all the mentioned methods? If none of them worked for you, then I would suggest to contact a technician and let him fix it.

  11. I have same problem,Interesting thing over here is Lots of people get this problem exactly around 2 year when contracts are about to end. And how it behave don’t make any sense. Like how it get connected for a minute and then disconnect. Looks like they have some counter for 2 year after it phone go haywire. Generally you can find solution for any problem online but I can’t find it for this problem. Not a single help thread from LG.

    1. If not a single method worked for you then I would suggest to contact a technician and let them fix this issue.

  12. AT&T D850. I did all this and it’s still happening. I did a factory reset. OTA update for Marshmallow. Still happening. It’s completely haywire. It will “see” networks in the area…maybe 8…then it will see only one…then nothing…then 6…then 2. If you find one and hit “Connect” it will either just completely drop it and not even “see” it anymore…or just revert to “saved”. sometimes I’ll get it to connect to a desired network…then ten seconds later…gone. Or it will be fine for five minutes…and as soon as I go to do something…pass data for an app or email…dead. I’ve spent probably over 20 hours at this point trying to come to grips with this and what I realize is this phone is going in the landfill…for this one “small” hardware issue…the whole phone is by-and-large now useless. Everything was fine for two years…suddenly one day-wifi is haywire. So completely frustrating. Never another LG.. Never.

    1. Exact same problem for me. All the same specs, all the same symptoms, and it started happening about a day ago. Only difference is that I don’t have Marshmallow (how did you get an OTA update for D850? I didn’t think it was out yet?). Would love to know if there’s a resolution. Getting ready to go on a long trip and can’t believe this is happening NOW. The phone is virtually useless to me without wifi.

I rooted the first week I had the G3 o take Facebook and all the AT&T garbage off. When the wifi issues started happening.. I figured my only recourse was a factory reset…. however… since I was rooted… that borked the phone. Someone from xda helped me reflash the stock ROM… and then I got the marshmallows update from AT&T. It has not helped. Right now my wifi at home is holding steady but will go data -dead… it will be live but won’t pass data. At work with two separate networks… it’s a total trainwreck.

      2. I see latest update was on November 2015. Please follow these steps to get it updated.

Apps > Settings > About Phone > Software information > Software version.

      3. Michael
        You’re right… andoid update is 5.1 lollipop.
I bought a Moto X Pure but it’s far from perfect and I miss my G3 a lot. Tried subsequent factory reset again… still flukey… same symptoms. Must be that some tiny segment of the radio chip is haywire… BT, NFC, and data are fine. Phone without wifi ain’t worth very much. Shame.

  13. I did all and its still happening ? without net the phone is useless i haven’t done the reset because i don’t want to loose my data also my phone is 1 year old and i already had to do 2 reset?

  14. All of a sudden this morning my phone won’t recognise any wi-fi network. My friend has the same phone and when right next to each other, his phone picks up 10-12 networks and mine none. Battery saver is also off, as well as bluetooth. Any thoughts?

  15. These fixes don’t work. My phone has a problem when I’m at places other than home where I can’t get to the router. Battery Saver is off and so is Blue Tooth. The rest of your fixes don’t help at all. My phone keeps trying to connect to different wifi services at the same time. It won’t let me Forget a network. As soon as I do it comes back up.

      1. No, I didn’t. I just have to keep trying to get it to connect. Takes me some time and it is very inconvenient. If I can’t get it I just switch to my tablet. No biggies, I’ll just make sure my next phone isn’t an LG.

        1. Try turning off Bluetooth. That was my issue. I too have the LG G3. Turning off Bluetooth allowed the Wi-Fi to resume operating normally. *knock on wood*

Disregard: I just saw your first post above. I would bring the phone into your carrier and have them take a look at it. And, sorry for bumping an old post.
