Reboot your Phone

Rebooting your phone will help clear out any communication errors that may be affecting your GPS. It can reset your GPS radios and remove any bugs that may be causing the system to fail or give inaccurate location data.

Activate GPS

Make sure the GPS is turned on.GPS affects the battery so most users turn off this feature when not in use. To ensure that the problem you are having is not as a result of the GPS being disabled check your location settings. To activate GPS on the Huawei P30 go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Location access. Tap the switch next to “Access my location” to enable GPS function.

Improve Location Accuracy

Your Huawei P30 may also be giving inaccurate GPS data locations simply because you are not using the right GPS settings. As a result, you will only get data that is close to what is right but not right. To get the best from your GPS ensure that you set accurate locations. This will improve the communication between your phone and the available GPS satellites.

You can improve location accuracy on your P30 by accessing device Settings > Security & Privacy > Location Access, activate “Access my location” function; tap “Google Location Accuracy”. Tap the switch next to Improve “Location Accuracy” to enable the function.

Disable Power Saving Mode

When power saving mode is enabled, some of the features on your phone are disabled. This is brought about due to the fact that power saving mode limits background activities and may also turn off some of the radios in your phone.

If these radios are turned off your phone will not be able to communicate with the GPS satellites. You can temporarily disable power saving mode when using GPS services by going to Settings > Battery. On the “Optimize Battery Usage” menu tap the switch next to “Power saving mode” to deactivate the function.
