  1. Mine just did the same pseudo face plant. about 5 minutes ago. 27 inch 2013 iMac. Doubt they will cover any repair so will likely kludge a fix with a block or wedge.

  2. Just happened to me literally a few minutes ago and I thought the whole monitor was coming over onto my keyboard as I heard a loud crack. Sucks. Mine is an October 2013 so likely out of any kind of warranty.

  3. I literally just had this happen to my late 2012 iMac about 5 minutes ago. I will try taking it to apple to see what they are going to say about it.

  4. My imac broke also. I got it in early 2013. My wife was working with it when it just made a crack sound and the screen faced down. It broke after about 1-1/2 years so out of warranty. I fixed it with a C clamp and block of wood. It looks half baked but works. I just found out about the possibility that Apple might actually fix it.

  5. Yes, there’s no sign of this issue being part of any extended coverage from Apple. You should edit the article, so it won’t mislead folks.

Granted, it should be covered by one of their extended coverable programs, but it’s not as of yet.

    1. Hi, John…I Had the same issue last year. Mine is 2013 version. I knew about that info from one of the technician who work in Apple Authorized Service Provider. It solved my problem, but you should as them an exception.

  6. Is there any info on where the extended 3 year coverage is listed? I called AppleCare and they made it sound like I was the first person they had ever heard of having this problem…

      1. Mine has been like that for ages. My solution was to wedge a small Sponge Bob Square Pants mascot just under the screen to keep it from tilting any further forward.
