Google Pixel 3 is a great phone for all those who want to be updated and want to use the latest technology and apps. If you own this device and having issues with battery life, it does not necessarily mean the phone is faulty. The life of the battery mainly depends on the usage, apps, and certain settings. In this article, we are going to share some useful tips so that you can improve the battery life on your Google Pixel 3.

Reboot the Phone

One of the best ways to start is by rebooting your device, especially if you haven’t done it for a while. On every single phone, Google Pixel 3 included, a lot of process and apps may be running in the background. All that can cause battery life issues. So, when you reboot the phone, it will close all of those things that are running in the background.

Battery usage details

Go to the ‘Settings’ and then ‘Battery’. On the menu button at the top right corner, you will find the ‘Battery usage’ option. You can see in detail the list of apps that are affecting the battery life. If you noticed there are apps that are eating a lot of juice, you may force stop them (by going to Settings > Apps, choosing the app and tapping Force quit), or you can uninstall them.

Disabling Always On Option

If you make some changes is settings, you can make your battery last longer. One of the options you may change is Always-on display. Here is what you need to do:

  1. Go to the phone’s ‘Settings’.
  2. Tap on ‘Display’ and then go to ‘Advanced’.
  3. Find the option ‘Ambient Display’.
  4. You will find an option ‘Always on’. Turn it off.

Updating Your Phone and apps

Software updates can bring battery optimization along with other bug fixes and some fresh features. So, always keep an eye on software updates, and make sure to get the latest version as soon as it becomes available. To update the software, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to ‘Settings’.
  2. Tap on ‘System’. Then go to ‘Advanced and then System update’.
  3. You will find the option ‘About phone’.
  4. Tap on it
  5. If there is an update available, download and install it.

It is also important to keep the apps on your phone up to date. It will work smoothly, and won’t cause any issues. To update the apps on your phone:

  1. Go to ‘Google Play Store’
  2. Next, go to ‘Menu’
  3. Tap on ‘My apps & games’.
  4. Tap Update all

All of the apps will not be up to date.

Wallpaper, Brightness and Sleep Time

There are many types of wallpapers that can make your phone even more beautiful. Few types of wallpaper are not static and always moving slowly. Those wallpapers can have an impact on the battery. So, if you want to improve your battery life, you may go for black or dark wallpaper uses less battery power.

Brightness can also play an important role when it comes to battery life. On your phone, you will find a bar to adjust the brightness. Lower the brightness level, or set it to auto-brightness.

You can also adjust the Sleep time. Here is how:

  1. Go to ‘Settings’.
  2. Select ‘Display > Sleep’
  3. You can set it to 1 min or less than that. So when you do not use the phone it will dim.

Adaptive Battery Mode

There is a new feature named Adaptive Battery mode. This is a great option which helps to control or limit the apps that are not used much. Make sure the feature is turned on.

Battery saver

When you are not using the phone, turn off the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Also, disable the GPS option if you don’t need it. These will reduce the battery usage. There is also an option named ‘Battery Saver mode’. When there is not enough juice, you can use the option. It will disable some apps and services and make your battery last longer. Here is how to turn it on:

  1. Go to ‘Settings’.
  2. Tap on ‘Battery > Battery Saver mode’.
  3. Swipe the toggle bar to turn on ‘Battery Saver mode’.
