If you plan to sell your iPhone 8 or give it away, you should back up your data and then erase everything on your phone, so the person who gets it next will have a new phone in terms of the settings. Factory reset is a solution if your phone is not working correctly and other troubleshooting options fail to work. Here, we will show you how to factory reset your iPhone 8.

How to factory reset your iPhone 8

Before proceeding to the steps listed below, make sure to back up your files. This is essential because a factory reset erases everything, not just data but apps, settings, etc. Once the backup is created, follow the steps below:

  • Open Settings
  • Tap General
  • Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone
  • Choose Erase All Content and Settings
  • Tap Continue to confirm

For the older iOS version, follow the steps below:

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap General.
  • Now tap Reset
  • Now tap Erase all content and settings

  • Enter your passcode if required
  • Tap to confirm the action

Wait for the phone to erase the data. Once the process is completed, set it up as a new device.
