Connecting Zoom to Outlook saves you from copying meeting links into calendar invites by hand. The cleanest setup is the current Zoom for Outlook add-in, then you can add Zoom meetings from Outlook on the web, desktop, or mobile.

Start with the add-in, test it in a new calendar event, then turn on the extra options you need.

Install the Zoom for Outlook add-in first

Use this method when you want Zoom controls inside Outlook while you create calendar events. The Zoom for Outlook add-in works with Outlook on the web, new Outlook, classic Outlook, Outlook for Mac, and Outlook mobile when your mailbox and organization allow Outlook add-ins.

In a browser, open Microsoft Marketplace, formerly AppSource, and find Zoom for Outlook Add-in. Click Get it now, then follow the Microsoft prompts to finish installing it for your Outlook account.

In new Outlook for Windows, open the ribbon or navigation bar and choose More apps. Select Add apps, search for Zoom for Outlook, select it, and click Add.

In classic Outlook for Windows, go to Home, then choose All Apps, then select Add Apps or Get Add-ins, depending on your account and build. On builds before Version 2303, click Get Add-ins on the ribbon instead. Search for Zoom for Outlook and click Add.

In Outlook for Mac, switch to Mail view, click ..., then choose Get Add-ins. Search for Zoom for Outlook and add it to Outlook.

Add a Zoom meeting to an Outlook event

Open your Outlook calendar and create a new event or meeting. Enter the meeting title, date, time, location, and guests.

In Outlook on the web, click Zoom. Choose Add a Zoom Meeting.

In Outlook for Windows, open the ellipsis icon in the top toolbar. Under Zoom, click Settings. Sign in to Zoom if Outlook asks. Choose the video, audio, and meeting settings you want.

Click Add Zoom Meeting. Click Save or Send. When you edit event details later in Outlook on the web, open the Zoom panel and click Update before saving.

Fix Zoom when it does not appear

The most common cause is that Zoom for Outlook is not installed for the same Outlook account that owns the calendar. Open the add-in store in your version of Outlook and search for Zoom for Outlook. Add it again while signed in to the Microsoft account connected to the calendar you want to use.

In classic Outlook for Windows, use an Exchange account for desktop add-in installation. When classic Outlook only has an IMAP account, use Outlook on the web instead.

In Outlook for Mac, use a Microsoft Exchange or Office 365 account for the Zoom add-in. When Outlook for Mac only has IMAP, use Outlook on the web.

On a work or school account, restart Outlook after the add-in is added. Contact your Microsoft 365 admin if Zoom for Outlook still does not appear or the add-in store blocks installation.

Connect Outlook calendar and contacts in Zoom

This is different from adding Zoom buttons to Outlook. Use it when you want Zoom itself to read and write your Microsoft 365 or Exchange calendar and contacts. Zoom requires the Zoom desktop app for Windows, macOS, or Linux at the global minimum version or higher, and your admin has to enable calendar and contact integration. If your admin has disabled or restricted the service or its permissions, ask that admin to turn it on for you.

Sign in to the Zoom web portal and open Profile. Under Others, find Calendar and Contact Integration, then choose Configure Calendar and Contacts Service.

Select the calendar service, choose the permissions, and click Next. For Office 365, keep Authorize with OAuth 2.0 checked, choose the permissions and Office 365 service type, then finish the Microsoft sign-in and authorization prompts.

For Exchange, enter the Exchange login username or UPN, Exchange login password, Exchange Version, and EWS URL. Each Zoom user can connect one third-party calendar and contact service at a time.

If calendar and contact sync does not connect, use the Zoom for Outlook add-in to schedule Zoom meetings from Outlook.

Make Zoom the default meeting provider

For Microsoft 365 accounts, Outlook can add an online meeting to your meetings automatically and use Zoom as the provider. Outlook does not add online meeting details to events longer than 24 hours or to any event without attendees. In Outlook on the web or new Outlook, open Outlook Settings, go to Calendar, then open Events and Invitations. Turn on Add online meeting to all meetings, set Choose a meeting provider to Zoom, and click Save.

In classic Outlook for Windows, go to File, then Options, then Calendar. Under Calendar options, go to Add online meeting to all meetings and select Add Meeting Provider. In that dialog, turn on Add online meeting to all meetings, choose the account under Apply to this account, select Zoom, and click OK.

On Mac, open Outlook Preferences, then Calendar. Next to Add online meeting to all meetings, choose Configure Providers, turn on Add online meeting to all meetings, choose your account, select Zoom, and click Save.

This feature requires the Zoom for Outlook Office add-in because Microsoft does not support partner providers' COM add-ins for default online meeting providers.

Use Zoom with Outlook on your phone

This fixes mobile scheduling when you create Outlook events from Android or iPhone. Open the Outlook app on Android or iOS. Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner. Tap the Settings icon at the bottom of the panel.

Swipe down and open Add-ins. Swipe down to Zoom. Tap +.

Open the Outlook mobile calendar and create a new event. Enter the title, date, time, location, and guest list. Below Location, turn on the toggle next to Zoom.

If another provider appears, tap Meeting Provider. Choose Zoom. Sign in to Zoom if prompted. Tap the check mark to save.

Open Outlook and launch the Zoom add-in. When the add-in asks to link your Zoom account to your Microsoft account, review the account details. Click Link Account.

Open the verification email from Zoom and copy the code. Enter the code in the Outlook window. Click Verify. Choose Yes, I confirm.

After linking, the add-in associates your Microsoft sign-in with your Zoom account for smoother sign-in.

Understand work accounts and older Outlook plugins

On managed Microsoft 365 accounts, your organization can install Zoom for Outlook through the Microsoft 365 admin center. That is why the add-in can appear automatically, be unavailable to install, or stay installed when you try to remove it.

The Windows Zoom Microsoft Outlook Plugin still exists for classic Outlook desktop as part of Microsoft Office 365, but Zoom recommends moving to the Zoom for Outlook add-in.

Skip the old Mac Outlook plugin on modern Macs. Zoom directs Mac users to the Zoom for Outlook add-in, and macOS 10.15 Catalina does not support those plugins.

Remove Zoom from Outlook or disconnect sync

This fixes the connection when you added the wrong account or no longer want Zoom tied to Outlook. In new Outlook, go to More apps. Open Add apps. Choose Manage your apps.

Find Zoom. Open More options. Choose Remove.

On Outlook for Mac, open the current Add-Ins for Outlook dialog. Find Zoom and remove it.

To disconnect Zoom calendar and contact sync, sign in to the Zoom web portal. Open Profile. Go to Others.

In Calendar and Contacts Integration, click Delete next to the connected account name. Click Delete again to confirm.
