Do you want to change your PS4 ID? At the start of April 2019, Sony (developer and marketer of PlayStation video game console) started allowing changing the PS4 ID. Before this since late 2018, Sony was only allowing a small group of beta testers this option of changing their PS4 ID.

Changing the PlayStation 4 ID is free only for the first change. For changing it more than once, you need to pay $9.99 USD. However, after the first ID change PlayStation Plus members need to pay $ 4.99 USD per ID change. As long as you are willing to pay, there are no limitations on the number of times you can change your PS4 ID. However, reverting back to any of your old IDs is free. Also, no one else can use any of your old IDs. They are available only to you.

Points to note

  1. It is not possible to change your online ID for PS3 because it is not supported by the online ID change feature.
  2. You should know that child accounts are not yet allowed to change their ID.
  3. If you want your friends to find your new ID, it’s allowed to display your old ID along with the new one for 30 days from the day of ID change. You can choose this during the time you are changing your ID.
  4. You should know that only the games that were published on or after 1st April 2018 will support this ID change feature. However, there is no guarantee that all such games will support this ID change feature. This is because not all the games that were published on or after 1st April 2018 were tested whether this online ID change feature was working in them or not. With that being said, most of the games that are played by most gamers support this feature.
