For its latest flagship, the iPhone X, Apple decided to ditch the Home button. While it may seem a bit strange once you start using the phone, especially if you owned an iPhone before, you’ll get used to it. On older iPhone models, the home button is used for many purposes. And one of the purposes is to activate Siri. Now, many people are wondering how to wake Siri when there is no home button. Even though Apple made some changes, things remain very simple. We are going to show you how to activate Siri on iPhone X.

How to activate Siri on iPhone X: Voice Command
Same as on older iPhones, you can activate Siri using your voice. In order to be able to do this, you need to turn on the option “Hey Siri”. Here is how to enable it:
- Navigate to Settings
- Now tap Siri & Search
- Tap Listen for “Hey Siri”
Once you set up “Hey Siri” on your iPhone X, all you need to do is say “Hey Siri” and ask the questions or give commands you want.
How to activate Siri on iPhone X: Side button
Another way to activate Siri on your iPhone X is by using the Side button. The Side button is used instead of the Home button. So, all you need to do is press and hold the Side button – this will activate Siri. Once Siri is activated, make your request.
Note: If you enabled “Type to Siri” – Settings > General > Accessibility > Siri > Type to Siri – once you activate the assistant you will see the keyboard. In this case, you will have to type your request.
As you can see, there are two methods to activate Siri, both very simple. You can use your voice, or simply press and hold the Side button. Choose what’s more convenient for you and make your requests whenever you want.
