If you think that the stock ROM on your Samsung Galaxy S3 is faulty, or you want to flash back to a previous version, then you can flash stock ROM via ODIN on Samsung Galaxy S3.
Before starting flash stock ROM via ODIN on Samsung Galaxy S3, the things you should take care of are:
1. Backup all the important data of your phone such as messages, contacts, etc.
2. Make sure that your Samsung Galaxy S3 is charged fully or above 80%.
3. Download ODIN for Windows or Odin For Mac and then install it on your PC
4 Download Samsung Galaxy MD5 File
4. Download 7Zip or WinRAR

ODIN is a program that can use the MD5 file to install ROMs on your device. This MD5 file can be anything such as modems, recoveries or even ROMs. Before you start with the process of flash stock ROM via ODIN on Samsung Galaxy S3, update your device drivers. It can be done in two ways, either you can search over the internet for your updated drivers and then download and install it on your PC. The other way is downloading or updating Kies. Then install or update drivers. After installing the drivers, restart your PC.
Process to flash stock ROM via ODIN on Samsung Galaxy S3
1. Install ODIN and open it. Where you see the PDA button, browse to the MD5 file you downloaded; it should have a .tar extension.
2. Disconnect your device from your PC
3. Put your galaxy s3 in download mode, hold (Volume down + Home + Power), then press volume up
4. Connect your galaxy S3 into to your PC and wait for Odin to recognize it

5. A message will be at the bottom “ADDED” when Odin recognized your device: Do not check Re-Partition
6. After few minutes, a colored box will appear. ‘COM: 3’. It means your PC has detected the device, and everything is ready to flash stock ROM via ODIN on Samsung Galaxy S3.
7. Click Start
After ODIN is done; a box will appear where is written reset or passed. At this point, you can unplug your phone.
Note: This method is applicable for Galaxy S3 AT&T,Verizon,US,Cellular,T-Mobile,Sprint,Metro,Cricket,LTE.

With JOdin3 Casual on my Mac, it works until the “Added” message ; above that is a red “Disconnected” message (under ID:COM) and nothing happens. What should I do ? Thanks!

Great article – thanks very much. All worked perfectly. Extremely difficult to get hold off the Stock Firmware… I only managed after several attempts from various websites and don’t even know which one it was now. Tip: try to right click and select on “save link as” instead of clicking on download – as those hyperlinks will redirect you to subscription based websites!
Thank you !
it works
Hello ! How come my Galaxy S 3 I bought online doesn’t support any Google? Did they do something when they reset it . please help I like the phone.I’m using a cheap one right now… Thanks
My suggestion is to contact with them from where you bought the phone and let them fix this issue or ask for a replacement.
Hi, I have Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-i747 AT&T unlocked with this rebooting issue: appears samsung galaxy SIII logo for a few seconds and then restart and appears samsung logo with little blue words “recovery booting” left upper corner and restart again and again and again, the “loop”. This happens when pressing the power button. I check and removed the power piece to make sure power button is not pressed. The mode volume up+power+home is not working, I tried 20 times to enter that menu but only got the loop. The odin mode volume down+power+home is working, so I follow this instruction (2 times) to flash the phone and reload the software but I got this error message after phone connected or added (in COM 3 or COM 4), here I copy all the log messages: Enter CS for MD5..
Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
Please wait..
I747UCDLK3_I747ATTDLK3_I747UCDLK3_HOME.tar.md5 is valid.
Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
Leave CS..
Added!!
Odin engine v(ID:3.1005)..

What I did:
I downloaded the odin software (Odin3 v3.10.6 with dlls).
I downloaded the MD5 for SGH-i747 AT&T (2 files dll and md5).
Run the Odin and in AP selected the MD5 and plug the phone, see that it has been added and start the process without checking the re-partition. End.
I see the writing process can be done, I do not know why. My phone odin screen shows:
Product name: SGH-i747
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System status: Official
Dualcomm secureboot: Enable
Downloading…
Do not turn off target!!
What can I do to come back to life my smartphone again?
I appreciate your time and help.
this might be completely unrelated but my rooted stock s3 (with Rogers) had constant reboot issues before I tried any rooting
Error: odin downloader stopped working! what to do, plz help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no MD 5 File in the link provided!
That is correct.
I hunted for S3 atnt and got to the page and only had an unlock code to un-lock my already unlocked phone.
NO MD 5, just linked SCH-i747 and At&T and the some unlock code.
I tried on Ice Dragon and FF but no link.
We must have got here to late?

Thank you so much. My only problem was Odin 3.09 kept setting off my virus protection. I used Odin 3.07 and it worked fine on my Sprint Samsung S3.
That is normal, it is not a virus. Use a different Browser or download it from here http://odindownload.com/
That download site does have a virus in the 3.09 file. The “severe weather alert” malware is in the file. Avoid it folks.
Thanks for pointing that out Woopsie, The Severe Weather alert file is only added to the installation upon the prior software that you agreed to install , like “YT Downloader, etc. However, i have changed the Odin 3.09 link to -https://www.dropbox.com/s/hi1jpv0oscwnoe8/Odin-v3-09.zip
Anyways thanks for being observant
