  • Tap on Apps (on some Android devices it is App Manager or Manage apps)
  • Find the Snapchat
  • Tap on the app and then click Clear Cache

When you do this, launch Snapchat and see if it is working normally.

If clearing the cache didn’t help, then this may help you to get rid of the problem. By clearing the cache, all the information the app stored will be deleted. Do the following:

  • Navigate to Settings
  • Tap on Apps (on some Android smartphones or tablets it is App Manager or Manage apps)

  • Click on Clear Cache

Make sure the Snapchat is up to date

You should make sure that all your apps are up to date, including Snapchat. Here is what you need to do:

  • Open Play Store app
  • Tap on three horizontal lines
  • When the menu opens tap on “My apps & games”
  • Go through the apps and find Snapchat
  • Tap Update

Delete the app and install it again

In most cases, one of the above-mentioned solutions will fix the problem. If that doesn’t happen, you should delete the app and install it again.

To delete an application on your Android device, you can choose one of two methods:

Method 1: Find the app’s icon on the Home screen, tap and hold it and then drag the app to “Uninstall” filed

Method 2: Go to Settings, tap Apps (App Manager, Manage apps), find Snapchat, tap on it and click Uninstall.

When you remove the app, open the Play Store, type Snapchat in the search field and download it again.

These solutions usually fix the problem. If that does not happen, make sure to report the problem to the developer.

  6. Unfortunately, I too have had the same issues on my android phone. I had Snapchat for many, many months. Then, the app would crash every time you would open it. So, after uninstalling it for nearly a year, figured I would try again. It worked for a while, but ran into the same problems. I did figure one thing out however that DID work.

If I was at work, Snapchat would work perfectly. If I was at home, it would crash. I linked this issue, to, simply turn off the Wi-Fi when I was at home, and it would work. But, after a few weeks, it didn’t matter if Wi-Fi was on or off, the app would crash regardless, and I’ve contacted the developer numerous times, with no response, and have uninstalled and forgotten all about it.

If the developer doesn’t care about their app, then they will be the ones losing out.

  7. My phone died completely, and then I`m assuming updated. Snapchat itself is also up to date. When I recharged by phone and turned it back on the snapchat app didn`t work properly. I`ve successfully sent two or three snaps all day and it`s constantly crashing. If anyone finds a solution please let me know?

  8. From what I have been able to find, if you are running android 7.x we are basically out of luck with getting real help the dev team and company behind them don’t seem to interested in keeping up with android support or functionality, even to the point they have investors pulling out because of it. The steps here are OK, and great of the author to post them, but really have nothing to do with snapchat specifically. These are all things we do in android for any app having issues. There is no fix from snapchat for their app, and doesn’t look to be one soon. Sad, really, a lot of my friends and people I follow use it. ??
