Solution No.1: Force close the app

If one of the application is unresponsive, you should force close it. To do that, navigate to Settings, tap on Apps, find the misbehaving app, tap on it and click Force stop. Go back to the Home screen and launch the app again.

Solution No.2: Restart your Nexus 7

Perhaps you have many apps and processes that are currently running in the background which affect the memory and causing the app issues, and restart will shut down all of them. Press and hold the Power button, and when the menu shows up tap Restart, and then tap OK.

Solution No.3: Update all your apps

You need to make sure the apps you have installed are up to date. To do that, launch the Play Store app, tap on three horizontal lines to open the menu, tap on “My apps & games” and then under “Installed” section click on Update all.

Solution No.4: System update

System updates are crucial for the stability and the performance of any smartphone or tablet, including Nexus 7. The new version can fix the glitches. Do the following:

  • Open the Settings
  • Tap on About tablet
  • Tap System updates
  • Tap Check now

If there is a new version available, tap Install.

Solution No.5: Clear app cache and data

This is a very simple step and usually one of the most effective ones. Go to Settings > Apps, tap on the misbehaving app and then tap Clear cache or Clear data. If you tap on “Clear data”, keep in mind the information the app stores, for instance, your username and password, or the high score in the game will be deleted.

Solution No.6: Reinstall the app

You can remove the app from your device completely, just by tapping on its icon from the home screen and dragging it to “Uninstall” field. Once you do that, go to Play Store, download the app again. Remember, pre-installed apps cannot be deleted.

These are the solutions that fix the app issues most of the time, but if you tried them all, and nothing works, report the problem to the app developers.
