How To Fix Moto G5 Wi-Fi Issues

Released this March, the Moto G5 is a great-looking addition to the range of Motorola smartphones. The mid-range smartphone is quite a takeaway for those who are looking to buy phones in its range as it is loaded with some noteworthy features.

The 5-inch touchscreen display comes with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and the G5 is powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The RAM of the smartphone is 3 GB and it has an internal storage of 16 GB which is extendable up to 128 GB microSD card.

For a mid-range phone, the camera of G5 is quite an impressive one – it comes with a 5-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera.

G5 runs on Android 7.0 out of the box and is a dual SIM phone. It is powered by a 2800 mAh battery which can last for a good nine hours.

Potential Solutions to Fix Wi-Fi Issues

Toggle Wifi

The easiest way out could be to turn your Wi-Fi off and then turn it on again. You can do this by going to Settings and here you look for Wi-Fi and turn it off. Wait for a few seconds before you turn it on. It may be up and running.

Restart the phone

You can also restart your G5 device, sometimes it is that simple and the problem gets solved.

Reset network settings

Resetting the network settings can also solve the problem of your troubled Wi-Fi.

  • You just need to go to Settings of your phone
  • Under Settings look for Back Up and Reset
  • Here you need to tap on Reset Network Settings
  • In this page, tap Reset to complete the process

Turn off Wifi scanning

Another potential solution to fix Moto G5 Wi-Fi issues could be to turn off the Wi-Fi Scanning. The steps for this are pretty simple.

  • Head over to Settings
  • In the Settings scroll down to Location
  • Here you need to locate Options which are in the form of three dots vertically placed
  • Under this, you will see Scanning
  • And in the Scanning page, you would notice Turn Off Wi-Fi Scanning

This usually fixes the Wi-Fi problems that the device is having.

Update the phone

It is important that your Moto G5 is updated. Any missed software updates could be a problem for your phone. Along with this, the router’s firmware should also be updated. You can get in touch with your internet provider to learn about the router’s update.

Forget Wi-Fi network

Try and forget your Wi-Fi network on your device.

  • Go to Settings
