Toggle Wi-Fi and Airplane mode

Start with the simplest solutions. Turn off the Wi-Fi, wait a couple of seconds and turn it back on. When it comes to Airplane mode, enable it, wait a bit and turn it back off.

Forget the Network

As a first solution, you can try to forget the network that you are using on your phone.

  • First, go to Settings and then under it select WiFi
  • On this screen select your Wi-Fi network and then tap on Forget
  • You can then add the network once again

Reset Network Settings

You can try to reset your network settings.

  • Go to Settings
  • Tap on Backup and Reset
  • Next tap on Network Settings Reset
  • Tap on Reset Settings
  • Next restart your device
  • Connect the Wi-Fi

Reboot Wi-Fi Modem

If the problem still persists and you are unable to connect the Wi-Fi then reboot your modem to solve LG V30 Wi-Fi issues.

  • Unplug the power adapter which is located behind it and then wait for 20-30 seconds.
  • Plug back it back in, it will take some time for the modem to boot.
  • Now connect your Wi-Fi network

Update Your Device

Software updates are important for your phone. If your phone is facing problems with Wi-Fi then it is probably because your phone is not updated. Here is how you can check for updates:

Go to Settings > About Phone > Update Centre. If there is an update pending then proceed with the update and install it on your phone.

Power Saving and Airplane Mode Should be Disabled

If your phone is on Power Saving mode or Airplane Mode then your Wi-Fi connection and some other features will not work. Pull down the notification bar and toggle them off. You can also do it from the Settings of your device.

Go to Settings > Power Saving and toggle it off.

Firmware Should be Up to Date

Speak to your internet service provider about the updates of your firmware.

Check MAC Address is Allowed

Your Wi-Fi will not work if the MAC address of your device is not allowed in the router.

Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Settings > Advanced and then note down your MAC address. Make sure that this address is allowed in the router’s MAC filter.

  1. LG V30 phone will not stay connected to my home wifi. Every time it connects it disables. I tried rebooting the modem and phone and it still doesn’t stay connected. My wife has the same phone and her phone stays connected to the wife so I don’t think it’s the modem. I just bought these phones last month. So please tell me what the problem might be.

  2. Here’s the weird thing,my tablet always connects to Wi-Fi at work with no problem. Only recently was my V30 not automatically connecting to the internet here at work. Just performed the network reset,and it seems like it has helped. Now I know what to do if it happens again. Thanks for the tips Technobuzz.

  3. There is another way to resolve the wifi issue at home. Click the WPS button on your modem/router, if it has one. In the advanced wifi settings, there is an option for connecting with this method.

  4. lgv30 android phone with 8.0 Android will not automatically authenticate to wifi network. I have to turn the phone off and back on before it will attach. Have you heard of this?

    Thank you so much for the details, Well my problem is with wifi Miracast. Well my problem is, im unable to pair or screen share my LG V30 with my SONY Home Theatre Model HTIV300. LG V30 is able to detect my home theatre but is getting disconected soon, where im getting an error message on SONY saying “Communication with wifi compatible device is disconnected”. Well this is not happening with all other phones, as im able to connect other brands like samsung, REDMI, LAVA etc, but not LG….pls help
