iPad Pro uses Bluetooth 4.2 technology, which is the latest one. Besides it is 250% faster than the previous version, it also has the new, more power efficient and highly secure features. If we used to connect a keyboard to iPad through Bluetooth, now you can rely on a smart connector. So, it can reduce the use of Bluetooth feature. However, this feature is still useful for many purposes, such as connecting to a mouse, headphones, Fitbit, and so on. Due to many users are complaining about issues related to Bluetooth feature, here, we want to share some potential solutions to fix Bluetooth issues on iPad Pro.
Solutions For Bluetooth Issues On iPad Pro
Solution No 1: Check the Bluetooth compatibility
If you have an issue in pairing the other device or accessory to your iPad Pro, check for its Bluetooth compatibility. iPad Pro is compatible with Bluetooth v4.2.
Solution No 2: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on both devices
You have checked the Bluetooth compatibility, but why you still have Bluetooth issues on iPad Pro? Ensure the Bluetooth of iPad Pro and the device or third party accessory are enabled.
Solution No 3: Check the range
The maximum distance for iPad Pro to can be successfully paired with the other device is around 30 feet. The closer the range is, the connection is better.
Solution No 4: Toggle Bluetooth Off and On
Try to turn OFF the Bluetooth: swipe up from the bottom edge of the iPad Pro screen and you will see a Bluetooth icon on the top. Tap the Bluetooth icon, wait for 30 seconds, and tap the same icon to turn it back ON.
Solution No 5: Turn On/Off Airplane mode
If it doesn’t work, you can try the same method above on the Airplane mode.
- Swipe up from the bottom edge of your iPad Pro screen.
- Tap the Airplane mode icon
- Leave it ON for around 30 seconds
- Tap on it again to deactivate it
Solution No 6: Forget device
Next solution is, to unpair the other device or accessory. To do so, go to Settings >> Bluetooth >> tap the info button (i) next to the device’s name.
Then tap Forget This Device >> Forget Device. Once you successfully unpaired it, wait for a few seconds and start over the pairing process.
Solution No 7: Turn Off and On the Cellular Data
This simple trick also works for some issue on iPad Pro cellular version. Go to Settings >> Cellular. Here, tap the button on the right of Cellular Data several times to turn it off and back on.
Solution No 8: Restart your iPad Pro
Restarting iPad Pro is the other simple method that can fix many issues, including this one.
- Press and hold the sleep/wake button until you see the slider
- Swipe “slide to power off” from left to the right
- Wait for 30 seconds
- Turn it back on by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button until it restarts.
Solution No 9: Reset all settings
Performing this method will reset all the settings on iPad Pro. Go to Settings >> General >> Reset >> Reset All Settings, and tap it. Your iPad Pro will restart and will reset all the settings.
Solution No 10: Erase all contents and settings
This method will also erase all the settings you have on your device but it will also delete the content. That is why you need to create a backup first. After you created a backup, go to Settings >> General >> Reset >> Erase All Contents and Settings. Enter your passcode before continuing the process. Tap Erase iPad. Your iPad Pro will reboot and you will have to set it up as a new device.
Solution No 11: Restore
The last solution you can do to fix Bluetooth issues on iPad Pro is, to restore iPad Pro using iTunes:
- Connect your iPad Pro to Mac/PC using a lightning cable. Note, the Mac/PC must have iTunes installed
- Open the iTunes Software
- On the summary tab, click Restore
- Before the restoring process starts, iTunes will download the firmware first
