Why This Matters

Independent heat and flame control lets you run the flame effect with or without heat, or run heat without the flame effect. That flexibility is useful when you want the look of a fire during warmer months without adding warmth, or when you want supplemental heat without the visual display. The front heating vent supports flush mounting, which helps the unit sit closer to the wall plane.

What You're Getting

The Sideline includes three flame color options, five flame speeds, five flame intensity settings, and ten ember bed color options, with a pulsating ember bed at level five intensity. It ships with both a log set and a crystal set, so you can change the hearth look. Bright LED flames sit behind a slim frame with a large viewing area. Smart connectivity works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, and a remote control is included. Two heat settings of 750 watts and 1500 watts pair with a thermostat adjustable from 68 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit or a constant-on mode, and the maximum output is 5,000 BTU.

Who This Is For

This fireplace suits homeowners who want a flush recessed installation or a surface-mounted option without a vent or chimney. It also fits buyers who want voice control through Amazon Alexa or Google Home, or who prefer the included remote. The independent flame and heat operation appeals to those who want ambiance year-round, while the adjustable thermostat and timer help manage supplemental warmth. Because assembly and mounting are required, it is best for someone comfortable with basic installation or planning to hire help.

Final Verdict

At the listed sale price, this Touchstone model offers a broad set of flame, ember, and heat adjustments along with smart-home compatibility. Consider whether your wall depth and power access suit a recessed or surface installation, and whether you want the included log and crystal options. The discount is measured only against the merchant's listed previous price, so compare that figure with your own budget and installation costs before deciding.
