What You're Getting

The Vertex is Shark's ultra-powerful upright with DuoClean PowerFins technology. A PowerFin roller and soft roller work together to dig deep into carpets and pick up more debris per pass compared to original DuoClean models. The self-cleaning brushroll eliminates hair wrap, which is a for multi-pet households. Powered Lift-Away lets you detach the pod for motorized cleaning under furniture or take the nozzle above the floor for stairs and upholstery.

Dust cup capacity is 1 quart.

Who This Is For

This is for anyone with carpeted floors and pets who wants a vacuum that handles hair without manual brushroll maintenance. It is also a strong pick if you need a powered lift-away mode for above-floor cleaning without losing suction.

Skip it if you prefer a cordless stick vacuum or have mostly hard floors with minimal carpet.

The Caveat

This is a full-size upright vacuum, so it takes up storage space and requires a wall outlet. Corded operation means no battery anxiety, but you are tethered to a power source while cleaning.

Final Verdict

At $229.99. This is the price to move on if you need a heavy-duty carpet vacuum with self-cleaning brushroll tech. The 41% discount versus its recent average makes it one of the better upright vacuum deals available right now.
