What You're Getting

The Leica SL2-S Mirrorless Digital Camera includes the body, BP-SCL4 battery, BC-SCL4 charger, body cap, camera strap, screen protection film, and Leica's 2-year limited warranty. At its core is a new 24MP CMOS-BSI full-frame sensor optimized for video work and low-light photography. The camera can shoot at 25 frames per second with its electronic shutter when capturing DNG files, or 9 fps with the mechanical shutter. With 4GB of internal buffer memory and ISO sensitivity up to 100,000, it's built for demanding professional use.

Who This Is For

Best for: Professional photographers and videographers who need exceptional low-light performance and want access to Leica's L-mount lens ecosystem. This camera excels in video production environments where its full-frame sensor and high ISO capabilities provide flexibility in challenging lighting conditions.

Wait if you're primarily a stills photographer who doesn't need the video-focused features, as other models might offer better value for photography-only work.

The Caveat

Leica lenses remain expensive, so factor in the total system cost. The SL2-S is optimized for video, so if you're strictly a stills shooter, consider whether you need its specific feature set.

Final Verdict

At $3141.22, this price makes the SL2-S competitive with other professional full-frame mirrorless cameras. For videographers and hybrid shooters who value Leica's color science and build quality, this discount provides a rare opportunity to enter the ecosystem at a more reasonable price point.

Move now if you need a capable video-focused camera with excellent low-light performance.
