Android 5.1 is real and HTC is telling us when the update goes live

Android 5.0 Lolipop was a major change for both the operating system created by Google as well as its users.

We began to hear rumors about Android 5.1 some time ago, but now a major player in the smartphone market has confirmed it’s existence.

During the past weeks, there have been all sorts of information about a new update for Android. Now we learn it certainly exists and that will be launched in the near future.

The news comes from an HTC official. Mo Versi, vice president of the product management division, was asked when the next update will come for smartphone HTC One M7.

He replied that the upcoming update “will be linked to the next release from Google, which is in March.”

The question is whether Versi was referring to an incremental update, such as Android 5.0.3, or a new version with more updates such as Android 5.1.

The fact is that once announced, the new version will arrive on all smartphones that have received Android 5.0.
