  1. Go to System Preferences.
  2. In Hardware section, select Energy Saver.
  3. Click Schedule
  4. To set the time to enter sleep mode, select Sleep from the drop-down menu. Use the appropriate drop-down menus to specify when you want the device to enter into the sleep mode.
  5. Click OK.

Solution No. 2: Check for devices

Bluetooth devices such as keyboard or mouse can wake up your Mac. Open Bluetooth preferences, click Advanced, then uncheck “Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer”.

Some applications may cause the issue. Try turning them off.

Solution No.4: Check the printer and external drivers

Sometimes USB or FireWire can disable sleep mode. See if MacBook work fine without external drives or printers attached.

Solution No.5: Resetting the SMC

  1. Turn off the MacBook
  2. Connect the MagSafe adapter
  3. Hold down buttons Shift, Control, Option, and Power at the same time
  4. Release all keys at the same time and turn on the MacBook.
