This error may occur because of your anti-virus software. Turn it off, and try to perform the update or restore.

 Solution No.2: Firewall.

The other reason that can cause this annoying error is your firewall. Perhaps it is blocking certain files. You have two options. The first one is to allow iTunes over the firewall. The other option is to simply disable the firewall, until you are not finished with the update.

 Solution No.3: Update iTunes to the latest version.

If you do not have the latest version of iTunes, certain errors can occur, and one of them is the error 3194. To fix the issue, update iTunes.

  • For Mac users: open the program on your computer. Open the menu, click on iTunes, and then click on Check for Updates.

By using the administrate rights, open the host file. Find: 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com line, and delete it. Save the file, but don’t change the name of it. Plug your device into your computer, and start iTunes. Try to update or restore again.
