For starters, you should check if the iTunes software is up to date. If it’s not, download and install the latest version.

Solution No.2: Deactivate your antivirus program.

In many cases, the reason why this error occurred in the first place lies in your antivirus program. Simply deactivate the program, and once you are finished with upgrading, activate it again. Make sure to check if the firewall is blocking certain files. If that is the case, choose the option to allow iTunes.

Solution No.3: Internet connection.

Internet connection can be the reason why you have the issue. If the network you are using when trying to finish the update, has limited VPN, try doing it in the place with no proxy settings.

Solution No. 4: Change the file name.

Find a document named “hosts” in windows/system32/drivers/etc. Add the following to the end of your host file without quotes: “74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com” and click save.
