YouTube Music has made changes to its artist pages on Android, iOS, and web apps by introducing a combined “Top releases” section. This new feature replaces the previous separate carousels for Albums and Singles, making it more convenient for users to view an artist’s top releases.

The “Top releases” section is located after the list of five popular songs on the artist page. Users can scroll through and browse the last 10 works, but they can also click on “More” located in the top-right corner to access a grid view with top filters similar to the Library and Home tabs.

Users can choose to view albums, singles, popular tracks, and recent releases. By default, the list is sorted in reverse chronological order.

This update is already widely rolled out on YouTube Music’s desktop and mobile clients as a server-side update. It offers a more powerful approach, with the sort options welcome and the grid view being much better than the old, tedious carousel. However, the initial scroll of the artist page may show less content, but users can interact with this page in a better way.

Overall, this new update makes it easier for users to find an artist’s top releases, and the improved user experience will likely be well-received by YouTube Music’s user base.
