Select members of the Xbox Insider Program gained access today to updated achievement notifications featuring new icons and animations for classic or rare achievements. These pop-ups will match whatever custom color users have selected for their profile interface, creating visual consistency across the dashboard.

Games that players have fully completed with all available achievements will now be highlighted in their achievement lists, which also includes new filter options to make finding completed games easier.

This 100% completion marker gives users a quick way to identify mastered titles at a glance, functioning similarly to PlayStation's Platinum trophy system but integrated into Xbox's existing framework.

Later this month, Microsoft plans to introduce what may be the most requested feature from the achievement community: the ability to hide specific games from public view on profiles. Titles like Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Burning Earth, notorious for easy achievements, can be concealed without affecting total Gamerscore or overall statistics.

The changes represent Microsoft's first investment in modernizing an achievement system that debuted with the Xbox 360 in 2005 and has seen minimal updates since. According to Senior Product Manager Alex Charters, these enhancements aim "to make it easier to celebrate your accomplishments and curate your gaming history."

Microsoft confirmed this update marks only the initial phase of improvements, with more features planned for future releases. CEO Asha Sharma stated that Microsoft 'stood up a dedicated team to focus on fan feedback' after years of requests for better achievement management tools.

Currently limited to inner-ring Insiders, these features will gradually expand to additional test groups before reaching all Xbox players in coming months. Hidden games will continue counting toward total Gamerscore and activity tracking despite being removed from public profiles.
