Existing Nintendo Switch owners of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered will receive a free upgrade to the enhanced Switch 2 version starting March 18, developer Aspyr confirmed.
The update delivers native Switch 2 performance with 1440p resolution at 60 frames per second when docked and 1080p at 120fps in handheld mode. The standalone Switch 2 edition launches alongside mobile versions for iOS and Android, marking the classic Lara Croft trilogy's debut on smartphones and tablets.
Mobile players can sample each game's opening level without purchase through free trial options available on both Apple's App Store and Google Play.
Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics simultaneously released a substantial content patch across all platforms introducing Challenge Mode. This free update adds difficulty customization options that let players modify parameters like health values alongside ten new outfits for Lara Croft.
Higher challenge ratings unlock additional cosmetic rewards according to the developer.
Pricing follows a promotional model with the complete collection discounted to $14.99 across platforms, half its standard $29.99 price point. The limited-time sale excludes PlayStation systems but applies to Xbox, PC, and Nintendo storefronts.
Mobile implementations differ from console versions by building upon original game code rather than porting existing remastered builds. Aspyr told Techradar this approach allowed optimization for touch controls while maintaining core gameplay systems unchanged from other platforms.
The March release timing coincides with Tomb Raider's 30th anniversary celebrations this year, though neither Aspyr nor Crystal Dynamics have detailed further commemorative plans beyond these updates and platform expansions.
