Two obscure Virtual Boy titles and a Game Boy Advance puzzle-platformer join Nintendo's subscription service next week, expanding access to some of the company's most overlooked Mario games.
Mario's Tennis (1995) and Mario Clash (1995) will arrive alongside Mario vs. Donkey Kong (2004) on March 10, timed for the annual Mario Day celebration.
All three titles require the Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier, which already includes select Virtual Boy and Game Boy Advance classics.
The Virtual Boy additions mark an expansion for Nintendo's failed 3D gaming system, which launched in 1995 and was discontinued less than a year later with only 22 games released worldwide. Mario's Tennis served as the system's pack-in title, while Mario Clash offered a single-screen arcade shooter experience based on the original Mario Bros.
This marks the first time these Virtual Boy games have been officially re-released since their brief availability on the 3DS eShop. Nintendo began adding Virtual Boy titles to Switch Online last year with Galactic Pinball and Teleroboxer.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong represents a more familiar entry for modern players, originally launching on Game Boy Advance in 2004 before spawning multiple sequels across Nintendo DS and 3DS platforms. The puzzle-platformer tasks players with guiding Mini-Marios through obstacle courses to rescue Pauline.
The March update continues Nintendo's steady expansion of retro content through its subscription service, which has grown to include NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and Game Boy libraries alongside premium Expansion Pack offerings.
Nintendo announced the new additions ahead of March 10 celebrations, when fans traditionally mark "MAR10 Day" with Mario-themed events and promotions across social media and retail channels.
