LG Innotek will debut next-generation automotive lighting technologies at the 39th DVN Lighting Workshop in Munich this week, targeting Europe's premium automaker market.

The South Korean electronics component maker announced its participation in the February 4-5 event hosted by Driving Vision News, a France-based automotive media and academic organization. LG Innotek will operate a dedicated exhibition booth at Olympia Park showcasing its Nexlide product lineup, according to multiple industry reports.

Key exhibits include Nexlide Air, an ultra-lightweight silicon-based lighting solution designed for bumper and grille applications. The company will also showcase Nexlide Pixel, which features what LG Innotek says are among the world's smallest lighting pixels at 2mm by 2mm (0.08x0.08 inches), enabling significantly higher resolution displays through vehicle lighting.

Nexlide Pixel received the CES 2026 Innovation Award, which was announced in November 2025 and represents a major advancement in vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication capabilities.

The technology can display high-resolution text and images on exterior vehicle surfaces, allowing drivers to convey emergency messages to pedestrians or express individuality through custom emoticons.

The system enables transmission of in-vehicle status information to emergency responders during accidents while providing new design possibilities for automotive manufacturers. LG Innotek positions the technology as a communication solution that goes beyond traditional lighting functions.

Following the workshop, LG Innotek plans to conduct targeted roadshows for major European automakers and parts suppliers. The company aims to accelerate its penetration of the European automotive market, which represents a key hub for global vehicle innovation.

LG Innotek targets $691 million in automotive lighting business revenue by 2030, according to financial projections shared with investors. The company has actively promoted its lighting solutions in Europe through webinars and technical demonstrations over the past year.

The Nexlide lineup also includes Nexlide Cube, which creates 3D lighting effects through a multilayered structure that produces floating light illusions, and Nexlide C+, featuring angle-dependent 3D multi-effects that display different images based on viewing angle.

LG Innotek holds more than 700 patents related to surface light source technology, which enables uniform lighting across extended surfaces without conventional thickness constraints. This technology allows ultra-slim vehicle lighting modules to emit brighter, more evenly distributed light while enhancing design freedom for automotive manufacturers.

The company's mobility solutions business unit sees Europe as a strategic market for expansion beyond its North American base. Senior executives have emphasized plans to become a trusted technology partner for European and Japanese automakers through continued innovation in automotive lighting solutions.

The DVN Lighting Workshop brings together global vehicle manufacturers, top-tier suppliers, academics and government officials to discuss key industry issues and share technology trends.

LG Innotek's participation aligns with broader industry shifts toward intelligent lighting systems that serve both aesthetic and communication functions in next-generation vehicles, similar to other European automotive technology initiatives.
